The 25 is 18mm taller, other than that it's the same dimentions. If you get a s1 25, you can use the rb20 loom and ecu with a nistune and vct controller or z32 ecu (internal vct controll).

It's the best thing I ever did with my gts-t..

Yeah they fit piece of piss...

You could use the power fc with a vct controller but I would recommend a Z32 ecu with RB25 loom and nistune as per XRATED above :)

awsome build buddy. did you wire the 25 in yourself or pay some one if so how much.

No wiring needed because I'm running a RB20 ecu, loom and sensors... Just needed to buy a RPM switch to turn the VCT on/off (I used a Greddy MSS) and have that wired up which was pretty easy

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally got around to doing the brakes upgrade.

Went from standard stuff to...

R34 Front Calipers to suit 310mm disk

RDA slotted rotors all around

Hels bradied brake lines

QFM A1RM pads all round

Looks a lot better now, fills out the wheels more and should hold up well for the time attack on Tuesday night.

Finally got down the track last night and managed a 58.0 at Barbagallo short track which isn't too shabby, also picked up the trophy for fastest RWD on the night :) Only revving it to 7000rpm and using 1.4bar on the track and everything held up mint with no issues at all!

Managed to lock up the front left and flat spot the tyre being way too eager on the brakes into the first corner early in the night and was going 0.5sec faster on every session so there is a lot more time to take out of that in the future. I used some Dunlop D02G 225/45/17 that were second hand and on the tread wear limit, I'll have another go on them next time and rotate the flat spot to the rear before I bring out some 235 RE55S and see what I can do.

I think I should be able to run a 56 with the Dunlops and try for a 55 on the Bridgestones in the future :)

i did not watch any of the vids or understand most of the words used but damn. alot of work and alot of love went into this car. almost makes me wish i had got an r32 insted of my 4 door r34

nice work

Just purchased myself front lower castor rod brace and going to get some front fender braces soon as well just to stiffen the old girl up a little more before I head back on track.

Also have a Hel's oil cooler kit with thermostat on its way to keep the oil temps in check when thrashing,

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
