Traffic Surveillance Cameras Perhaps?

G'day all,

I noticed about 4 of these things strapped to light posts around my area and Im trying to wok out what they might be. They seem to be all facing intersections. Im not sure if it is coincidence that lately we have had some Idiots driving, well like idiots, pretty much every night around the neighbourhood and leaving a lot of rubber around. which makes me think that it is some sort of surveillance camera to try and catch them.

Needless to say, Im driving very grandpa spec around home now.

Fair enough, well if anyone drives through Giralang, probably a good idea to keep an eye out for these things

They look very easily vandalised with the way those wires are wound around the pole and the box is just sitting there...

Had one of these set up literally just outside the window here at work in Tuggers.

I was wondering what the heck it was, thought it might have been a light for night works on the intersection nearby due to some road-works signage going up as well but now the unit is gone.

I have never seen them before, they look really high tech though eh, held on with nothing but a ratchet strap... They certainly aren't anything from the "traffic camera office"
