Every day bro, usually at 7am is the best because it's nice and cool and you might be able to slip the tuner cash before the boss comes in so it will be cheaper.

No but in all seriousness, if you don't plan on modifying the car then I would generally say.. Never, for example I have an R34 GTT which was stock for about a year.. Then I upgraded the ecu to an Apexi PFC, intercooler, coilpacks, zorst, upped the stock boost, this required a tune which I have now been driving on for about 3 months.

Basically I would only expect to need another tune if;

A - Something went wrong

B - I decided to upgrade something else (injectors, bigger turbo etc)

C - I decided that the first tune was pussy and I could of stressed the engine another 10hp (which I wouldn't do as I like my safe tune)

Hope this helps, I suppose the other thing to note is if you buy a car which already has an aftermarket ecu then the only thing you would need to question is who tuned it and how good was the tune, and also has anything happened between the last tune and you buying the car.

Cheers,

Steve

Once a car is tuned correctly, than that is it.

It is only when you change something major that you will need a retune.

Yup,

Even when major services are done (according to Nissan) at 40,000 80,000, 100,000 140,000 180,000 200,000 you don't need a retune unless you've done a performance upgrade.

Even changing plugs or coilpacks does not mean that a retune needs to be done.

thanks guys, i wasn't sure, i used to work near RX engineering and the same cars would be back on the dyno every couple of weeks, i wasn't to keen to be doin that. glad its not the case. :)

Power hungry doods with too much money. ;)

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
