Hello I got a set of V35 coupe wheels from a mate for cheap. Two have scratches around the rim and all of them have light scuffing on the spokes. I would like to neaten them up but to get them re-done in shadow chrome is $260 each, way more than I paid for them lol. Anyway the wheel repairer (Depulu) suggested a colour change to plain silver which brings the cost down to $185 each wheel (inc tyre removal/refit), which is much better for the wife :whistling: . Anyway I was also thinking perhaps gun metal would look alright as well. It is a black V35 sedan.

Here are 2 links I found of what I am thinking of

The first is an Audi but they are 7 spoke wheels so sort of close-ish.

Audi with gun metal 7 spoke gunmetal wheels

The second is a set of 18 coupe wheels home painted to gun metal.

If there are any other colour suggestions fire away. But not keen on black and not not keen on black with red lip.......

Black on black.

And then paint the chrome bits in your car black and if you can paint the headlights black.

And you have the nicest looking car.

Cant agree more, okay this is not the sedan but this just looks the business! GO BLACK!

A chap posted this on BC.com. They aren't the coupe wheels, but are close. I think if the wheels were dished, hellyeah black with polished rim/lip. I am just worried with black wheels it will be to much black?

You can buy tint for the headlights to tint and it looks pretty schmik , I am bout to go ahead and get everything blackafied (just made that word up) , got grill , indicators and new headlights to play with as well as black wheels so should look good

Hello Back again, using my non existent paintshop skills I used the wheels as shown on the Stagea (both in the light and shade) above and also found some pics of some V35 coupe wheels painted gun metal grey. I do like the tungsten in the shade but not so in the light. Suggestions?

    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
    • It's been quite the ordeal but hey, at least you figured it out.
    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
