I am a big believe in the good jap intercoolers. many of the cheap chinese ones i've seen are rubbish.

I would go for either a 70mm or 100mm thick ARC cooler. they are without doubt the best. they are light weight (very important being where they are located in the car), they perform very well and also allow good airflow through to the radiator (something which not many other intercooler makers consider or measure).

the 100mm ARC cooler is plenty big ebough for lots of power.

check out your cooler, it may be nismo, easy way to tell is measure the core (not the tanks, but the actual core) for thickness. around 60mm is stock. if it's closer to 100mm then it may be a genuine nismo core which is very good too. if it is nismo then keep it.

Yeah same, i love jap brands.

I had a look at ARC intercoolers and they sound like a good suggestion, as i just measured my intercooler core and its about 60mm thick. So i think ill definantly be looking into 100mm thick arc cooler, pricey but worth it! :)

Thanks again for the advice.

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
