Well after a short struggle to find a few decent workshops, I sumbled accross these few and thaught others may be interested in their services.

Wreckers

=======

Japanese Auto Spares

20 Taree Street Burleigh Junction

* This Yard is HUGE and possibly the most organised and cleanest (sp?) wreckers i have EVER come accross, Frank has everything you need and nothting you dont. They specialise is EVERY japnese import. The service i recived from them was no short of amazing. and the range of stock is unbelivable

Painters

======

Wizard Smash Repairs

* I have visited Joels paintshop a few times now, and have noticed his paint work to be the best 'Bang for Buck' work i've seen on the goldcoast, Speaking with Joel he admitted he loves to play with colours and pearls. Very easy to get along with

Thats Currently the workshops that ive delt with and have gotten my thumbs up, especially Japanese Auto Spares, I was blown away when I walked into their shop.

yes i agree japanese auto spares is very good. I have walked through their warehouse and its massive as you said very organised and great prices. The guy that looked after me was very good, he was an old bloke i cant remember his name but hes very friendly.

They also have lots of parts for uncommon imports like sera's, gtir's, fto's

Mate, Theres the phone number..

Theres the Address..

Theres Franks name..

Im sure you have a phone at home..

and yes he does because i was looking at one today

Just let frank know matt from forstville towing told you and he should know the parts i was looking at

Anyone needing a towie should call this guy:

"Big Steve" 0418 621 495

He just towed my car from my home to Gav at an awesome pice and was very nice and overall the service was 9/10 he lost a point because he didnt drop everything and towed my car right then and there when I asked him to :D

But yeah Very nice, if I ever need one again, I'll be going to him!

Towtruck drivers are a funny breed.

I remember pricing towtrucks when I destroyed my clutch and there was a wide variety of pricing for exactly the same job.

I even asked one guy what he did extra that was worth $30.00 more than someone elses quote, to which he told me to **** off and use the cheap dude.

Fantastic way of staying in business there.

Mind you I guess they are towtruck drivers cause life wasn't gunna give them a lot of other options with that kind of attitude :)

I also had the guy who came and towed my car, proceed to tell me how shit RB engines are compared to anything Holden has put out in the last 30 years.

I was like WTF, do you even know what you are talking about?

And he said "yes son I was a mechanic for 20 years so I know all about engines and he said they are designed to break down".

After I picked myself up from the ground from laughing I pretended to agree with him as he was starting to get a bit narky.

Once I assured him that yes Holden has made the best engines in the world, he calmed down a bit :)

Towies can be funny at times...

My father owned a tow truck business for like 20 something years down in sydney, and he was soooo respected. everyone knew who he was. all the cops all the other towies..

i remeber one time this new guy from rival company rocked up to an accident my father was already at and and told me dad to get ****ed bla bla and took the job off him.

the kid didnt tow for that company 24 hours later :)

the best bit was the fact that because he was so respected it carried on to the family name.. i use to be the crazy burnout king back in my day, anywhere any time i would bag em up.. and not once did a copper come and have a word to me..

got caught speeding 2 times both, doing 32 and 45 over .. told i was lucky my old man is well respected in the area and to piss off back home for the night

hehe

Can also vouch for Wiazard smash. Got joel to do abit of panel beating and respray on my car, the results are just absoultely perfect! He seems to get alot of ppl wanting resprays, mainly because the quality of work is so high. And prices are much much better then other places.

Clint

Holden engines may not fail, but everything around them does, oil/water pump, power steering .. everything

have countless friends who have said 'man dont buy a skyline all they do is break down' when all of them have spent more than the cars worth fixing shit

i havent spent $1 on something thats broken, cos nothing has!

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
