daisu
Hi all, Have a 350GT V35 2003 manual coupe. I'm currently looking at installing a standalone aftermarket ECU and I'm wondering what kind of important features I may loose or any other problems I'll face. Anything like VDC? On the other hand, I've had a bit of a look but haven't seen much about reflashing the standard ECU in the V35. I'd much rather have it reflashed if it's possible. Thanks, Luke Edited February 22, 2011 by daisu Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/354853-remove-standard-ecu/ Share on other sites

scotty nm35
Emanage Ultimate would work well, is there a good tuner up there? Speak to them. Hopefully they have worked on VQ's before or it could get expensive... daisu
The emanage ultimate is about a third of the price of the haltech platinum pro. I'll have to talk to my tuner again and see what he has to say. Also forgot to add, this is for a forced induction setup. Standard motor but it's getting a turbo kit. scotty nm35
Platnum pro would be the obvious choice, but you may have to give up more than you would like to. The Haltech digital dash looks like a good option if you have the coin. The Emanage does a remarkable job for the money and is very capable in the right hands. If you are boosting, make sure you run the Greddy Map sensor also. Tricky-Ricky
Have you guys not heard of the Uprev Osiris remapping software, it works on the JDM 350GT. http://www.uprev.com/products.php Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/354853-remove-standard-ecu/#findComment-5685522 Share on other sites
LineItUp
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but wouldn't you need an Aussie tuner to make use of this option? What ECU did you end up going for? A mate of mine had an Emanage for his 33 GTST but ended up ditching it for a PowerFC after not being able to find a tuner Have you guys not heard of the Uprev Osiris remapping software, it works on the JDM 350GT. http://www.uprev.com/products.php Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/354853-remove-standard-ecu/#findComment-5838304 Share on other sites
daisu
Yeah, the older skylines I would've suggested a powerFC, tried and tested. As for my situation, I went with the Platinum Pro Plug In (350z). It retains the factory ECU to maintain functionality and intercepts the fuel and ignition control. So at the end I didn't loose any features.
