Hi,

For those of you who have been to a few track days, you'll know that it’s pretty much the best fun you can have in a car.

I enjoyed the Skyline days so much that I've signed up for a real racing series, the MoPro Cup.

Unfortunately, I'm not racing a Skyline. Instead the series is for identical Daewoo Lanos (or should that be Lanii?), and we've just finished the first round at Oran Park. As all the cars are identical, results come down to driver ability, and this creates incredibly close racing.

The reason I am posting this is that I'm looking for assistance in the form of sponsorship for the series.

The cost of this sponsorship is $200 per round, that's just $1000 for the rest of the series.

Your $1000 will get you:

* Coverage on my car for the next 5 rounds.

* My support of your product whenever possible (eg. after race speeches, distributing information at races, racing apparel and any other opportunities you can think of)

* Free entry to the remaining 5 rounds (the next round is Eastern Creek on 22-23 June)

* 100% tax deductibility for your company (claim it on your next BAS!)

* Hot laps at Sponsor drive days (the first is next Saturday, 25th May at Oran Park)

Of course, we are willing to discuss other packages, dependent on your business's budget.

Specific opportunities

* If you sell import cars, the crowds and competitors at these events are (not surprisingly) interested in performance cars. I saw 2x Skylines, 2x 180SXs, and a 22B WRX among the crowds (not to mention the Pulsar GTI-Rs, FTOs, Familias and WRXs racing in various groups.)

* If you have a performance or motoring related business, the spectators are obviously interested in performance parts or services.

* If you have a unique business product this is a unique way to market it at a reasonable price!

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact me via [email protected].

As long as we have an agreement in place by Friday (24/5), you are welcome to attend the day at Oran Park next Saturday to see first hand how fast and close these cars really are. If not, there will be future hot lap opportunities, and of course the other coverage as described above.

I would also appreciate you passing this opportunity to any other potential business owners you know who love their cars and motor sport. Long term, I'd like to be racing a Nissan, and this is really a stepping stone towards that goal.

Thanks for your support,

Duncan Handley,

Future GTP Champion in a Nissan!

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
