Hi all,

I need to replace my crappy car stereo and ideally I would like to find a black stereo with red lights ( to match the dash lights) that also has aux in the back.

The Sony's entry models would do just fine except that nowadays they all come with front aux.

So if you have an old unit preferably Sony hat has BUS-IN or CD-IN RCA ports I would like to hear from you!!!

I have been looking on ebay and gumtree but cannot seem to find any....

I need this unit so I can hook it up to a Eximus 7 inch Android Tablet.

if you DO find one look for a XA107 to match it. you will need that to get aux audio into it.

I would look at pioneer myself and change the LED that lights the dispaly. they have rear aux.

Thanks for your help!

I'll keep an ete out for one of those as well....

cheers

I got a Pioneer DEH-P8100BT a few weeks back. It's a 2009 model, but you might be able to pick one up on eBay second hand. It's got 2 rear usb inputs, as well as bluetooth and 3 rca pre-outs, so it's a pretty nice little unit

I used to have an Alpine X-001, which was iPod/USB only, that had the option of blue buttons/screen or red.

Now I have a Pioneer similar to the DEHP7150UB, which is black and red, fits the M35 dash quite well.

some of the new pioneer double Din units allow you to custom match the LED colours - so using RGB LED's, you can adjust the levels to create literally any colour in the world so will match any dash perfectly. pretty cool!

I have an Eclipse something.. It's a few years old, but has rear aux in, plus rear USB and ipod connector and Bluetooth. You can select the colour, so I always set it to red. I'm really happy with this head unit. I've had it 3 years now and it's worked faultlessly. Has 3 RCA 5V pre-outs, too. Heaps of features..

stuff the lights go for the sound...you wont think damn i wish i bought the louder speaker not the red lights !!!

I went F N nuts on my Stezza...as I have dont in all my cars i love my sound lots and lots...like in my house..lounge..bedroom...outback..bathroom..total love it...

go for the sound not the look...if people go wow your system looks amazing ..then you turn it on and OH :O "my stock vz system sounds beta" you would be spewing..

Then it looks ok but you can $$$ it and they are like that looks ok but my mate has one thats looks fullllllyyyyyy,,,,then you turn the beast on and blow then thru da roof and down the street... lol ;)

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
