So, you might be able to snare a spare 'access all areas' pass for a beloved SAU Admin? :ninja::D :D :D

I take it from your sig that the RB27 makes significantly more power now, than the 298rwkw figure from 2007 - given you have run an 11.24 pass. VERY impressive time indeed!!!!! Is that 2wd or 4wd?

HAHA, i wish i could get spare passes, i couldnt even get one for my wife when she went to the Gold Coast round last year with me.

Thanks for the comments about my car, but it still only makes just under the 300rwkw to run the 11, its all about the tyres.

Cheers

Luke

Wow that is an amazing time for that power level - with a 1.61 60' you must really hook it up! I know what you mean it is all about tyres .... back in 2003 I did a 12.74 110mph in my S15 and it only made 200rwkw - but it would do consistent 1.6-1.8 sec 60' times with decent street tyres - and it was my work car that I drove there and drove home at full weight.

That is one of the vids from the day,

Im the first car on there, with R33 with black bonnet and NUTR33 on the plates.

Hey Whiplash, what do you do with VodkaO, on one of the teams or an organiser?

i will be in a fadded orange Chanel7 shirt that looks 2 sizes to small for me working on the cameras, come and say hi if you like.

Cheers

Luke

Looking forward to being trackside agai this year, but probably only Thursday and Friday. (In the usual spot if you want to drop past)

So you'll miss the fashion shows behind your seats on Saturday and Sunday  1st no Schutzenfest and now bailing on bikini parade.... you changed man :action-smiley-069:

Wow long time no hear Guy :) - if you are after a ticket for either Saturday or Sunday on Pit Entry Gold, I am selling some tickets at $85 per day. Or I still have a 4 day pass for $185.

Good to catch up with you today Nick.

They have destroyed our usual shade tent, but the fashion parade catwalk is still there, and the XXXX girls trailer was backed up for a show today.

Back again tomorrow.

Hopefully I get to spend most of the day in the corporate section (again) enjoying the free food and drinks.

1 hour race was great at night,

From the press release:

GTClipsal_finish1.jpg

GTR I found sitting in front of the GT paddock

Our poor Lambo suffered a lower control arm failure during the race.

Andrew and I apparently stared on the Super Screen today :whistling:

Was chillin with my "old mate" Murray Walker on the podium today, watching the GT race, got a few photo's with him, whilst holding a bottle of Vodka O

Vodka O porsche needs a heart transplant, don't think its normal for the oil to be 30% metal shavings :-(

I tried to find you this morning to no avail :( did pass murray in his golf cart though on the walk down to the GT pit area

Apparently andrew and pete tried to find me, but i musta been off escorting the guys in "yowie" suits around

amazing how far a green uniform gets you in the pit area

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
