Who? Wetheringtons? The first Wetheringtons was a mobile service that went around to all the goldfields in Victoria so the miners could have their horses dynoed before they bought/sold a horse. The guy who had the mobile service, Arthur Wetherington later set up a workshop in Bendigo which was a great success. The business model was then franchised out to different people and I believe for a short while there was a Wetheringtons franchise in Perth.

Were they related to the pigeon racing wetheringtons from Woy Woy ?

He aw He aw..... He awlways asked this question.

If only the rep buttons were still there, that's a plus one

Back on topic, I believe that donkeys are the diesel of the animal kingdom, Not huge power, but heaps of torque

That was borrowed from the LULZ thread I believe. The Kings Speech.

Anyway, I will leave you with the history of the boost.

As far as horses making 1.5 HP it is very possible. I mean we all know horses have power-bands, like any engine. You know how when you ride a horse and when you squeeze your boots into it and it goes from a trot to a canter to a sprint and you feel the increase in torque, they called that the "boots" but somewhere along the line it was misread as "boost", so the term boost that we all know so well actually comes from the good old days when we all used horses to get around.

While on the subject of donkeys and horses.

What other animal would you say a donkey would be closely related to?

If you said horse you would be correct. They are in the same family tree as say a cat and a lion. A dog and a bear.

A donkey's DNA and a horse's DNA are so similar that they can actually mate and produce offspring. Only animals with similar DNA can do this. Therefore a cat and a horse could not produce offspring.

Now to my point.

The closest related primate to humans has DNA that is even closely related than that of the horse and the donkey.

Therefore the primate and a human could actually mate and produce offspring.

Food for thought.

That explains so much about America's last president

I think the point has been missed. When a horse does a dyno pull it's a measurement of how far the horse can actually pull the dyno, converted into horsepower. This may explain the difference between dyno readings, as some dynos are heavier than others. I understand the distance can be improved by the fitment of a Polarhorseariser.

Explains a lot of the dumb shits on this planet lol.

EDIT: I swear the gods are looking down on me some times.

I just got a personal message that explains my DNA fact above.

This was a message I just received from a guy called NSNPWR.

Hey mate, remove head from ass anytime youre ready...let me just say a few things...I, like old mate in that thread ran 12s in my VL with around [email protected] to be precise with 205rwkw (on a DD dyno) out of a single cam RB30...Hiflow T3, T04B front, Haltech ECU, STOCK inlet and exhaust manifolds, STOCK head, baby Waggott cam, Jatco 4 speed and 2800 stall...I have the time slip right here if you' like to see it?...Pound for pound, a single cam RB30 will make as much if not more than a 25 and will hand a 20 its ass all day everyday!...Have you ever driven one with a decent setup? didnt think so...I know of one car here in SA that went low 10s at near on 140mph with the stock MX7 manual, 35/40 (1.06), Tighe cam with the stock head! That car made over 400rwkw on a hub dyno...I could go on but suggest you go do some reading before shooting your mouth off in future.

Cheers, Darren.

This message was aimed at my comment about no way in hell the OP in the previous thread made 200rwkw from a NA RB30 from spending $2000.

Any one notice the key factor that NSNPWR has some how missed? One key element?

How we survive as a species is beyond me.

Well chimpanzees are most closely similar except we cannot mate with one since we have millions of base pairs of DNA that's different. Not to mention the fact that we have 23 pairs of chromosomes and they have 24.

Mating a female horse with a male donkey - Mule

Mating a zebra with a donkey - Zonkey

Mating a female tiger with a lion - liger

Just a few of the bizzare examples :)

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
