ok guys im sorry for annoying the forum but i dont have a jack and no one around me know either, but does anyone know

if a kaaz 2.0 lsd out of a R32 will fit in my series 2 R33? Im seeing all this 6 bolt 5 bolt diff housing does any of this have anything

to do with me? As far as i know im told that my diff is a R200 and as long as its somthing like that i should be sweet,

if anyone can educate me on what my standard diff is and what can fit i'd be very great full.

Cheers guys

You'll have to be more specific about the models of car you're talking about. Given you haven't supplied this info, I'll make an assumption you're talking about an R32 GTS-T and R33 GTS-T. They both use the same KAAZ diff centre (SAN2645), so it will be interchangeable between both R200 diff housings no problem. Whether you can put an R32 diff housing into an R33 vehicle is another thing though - might need to put in R33 side flanges to make it fit with your driveshafts.

When people talk about 5 and 6 bolt, they are referring to the bolt pattern of the side flanges where your driveshafts bolt on. R33 GTS-T have 5 bolt flanges. R32 GTS-T may use the 6 bolt (3x2) pattern, and this is why the R32 diff housing probably won't be a direct swap into an R33.

R32 GTSt uses 5x1 flanges like R33 GTSt, S13 uses 3x2 flanges and GTR uses 6x1.

S13 housing bolted in to my R32 but I have a funny feeling that R33 housings bolt up slightly differently (maybe bigger bolts at the front, seems to ring a bell).

Ahhh that's it, I remember why an R32 housing won't bolt directly in now...the mounting holes up front are smaller than an R33 diff. Backing plate is also different, however these can be swapped. Here is an R32 GTS-T diff:

Ah ok i apologize about not supplying the correct info, but yes Birds you are correct that the models are the GTS-T's, also i was referring to the diff centers

so yet again you provided me with more correct information.

I appreciate all the good info thats all i need boys cheers.

Cheers, Jace

For reference guys. The backing plate on 32 gtst housing has four bolts. 33 gtst has 2 larger bolts. The 33 gtst housing also has much bigger ears at the front of the housing. Both use 5 bolt half shafts in 5 x 1 comfiguration. The centers are essentially the same and can be swapped. How ever if ur putting the center out of say a mate 32 into your 33 then make sure you use your own crown wheel on his centre. Dont use his crown wheel. Crown wheel and pinion gear are a matched pair in all differentials so u should not going swapping crown wheel. It promotes noise and premature wear.

Cheers mate thats a helpful hint i otherwise would have never found out about haha good info

cheers, jace

This is true. However, R32 is 4.36:1 isn't it? You'd be nuts to swap to it anyway!

    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
