As the title says, I'm dishing out a total of $1000 for a new audio system in my R34 Non-turbo Coupe. This is a part I want in it, a Pioneer DEH-8350SD headunit, replace all the speakers in my car with new ones and finally install a new subwoofer (doesn't need to be massive). All this will be installed by a professional.

What speakers and subwoofer fit into the price range of my budget?

Is the Pioneer DEH-8350SD able to control iPhone 4 in the actual headunit itself or do I have to use my iPhone to change the music?

How much is fitting and are there any suggestions for who can do it in Victoria? Or should I just go to Autobarn?

Finally, if I want to buy a new car, can I remove these parts and replace them with my stock parts and transfer the new parts to my new car? (Thinking of changing to a turbo in 3 years time)

Any suggestions / help appreciated!

Thanks!

I don't understand.. your other thread you stated a mere 8 days ago that you have spent all your money and couldnt afford the 2k for the aus replacement of your equipment.. Now you have 1k already.. maybe wait another 8 days and you can make your car look factory and work awesome..

Well $2000 is too much for me to spend, I work two part time jobs and I really don't want to spend that much on an N/A car as I'll be upgrading to a turbo in three years time. I guess screw the speakers and subwoofer then, I'll just get the headunit so I can actually play SOMETHING in my car -_-

Ok Grey,

i'm not joining on the flaming, but Beast is right, keep saving, "Do it right the first time" don't waste money fiddeling at the back and setteling for peices of shit as you will Need to replace them in the future, and the money you already spent will be for nothing.

Secondly, to get a Sub to work you need an amp, a Good one at the least will cost $300+ , it doesn't sound important but it's probally the difference between a GTR and a N/A in the audio world.

Keep Saving and maybe for the time being sound GHEY and stupid but maybe an ipod, and a dock if you have one?,,,

I managed to get a full sony sound system for 1k, came with headunit (ipod compatable and USB dock), 6.5 splits, 6x9 3 ways. 12" sub in box and mono amp. and wiring kit. i got it threw wow sight and sound (not avalable in southen states to my knowlage). but if you look around, say autobarn, jb hifi, stafild. you might come accross a complet package for something close to your budget. and installing isn't hard. theri should be a few threads in the DIY/ fab sections on how to install radio gear. Just rember to keep your old stuff for when you wona change back.

It wouldn't be that hard if his car had provision for a DIN headunit. In another of his threads, it's established that he has the model with the different climate control unit, and the pop-up screen option - which means he's going to need to source the appropriate parts to convert it to a regular double-din slot & the regular climate control unit before doing anything:

All of this means that he's unlikely to get what he wants for $1000 or less - especially if he needs someone else to do all the work.

    • We have a huge update coming in the next few months, version 5 of Invision will be released. I'm holding off any changes until after this change as I'm not sure what features will be removed or introduced.
    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
