Idealy looking at it this way. f**king piss job:

- 6 bolts on turbo and 2 on the cat - remove

-Take off dump/front

-Place new dump/front pipe in same location

-Replace said 6 bolts and 2 bolting to the cat

-Yaay

Dont see how its a $200 job in the slightest

I supplied all parts and got mine fitted along with oil in box and diff changed for $150..Guess I got lucky.

I did try do it myself but bolts on the cat were rusted on good and proper, needed an oxy to get them off. Aside from that it is an easy job.

i got slugged charged $100 for getting a dump/front installed with perfect bolts, they knew my car aswell lol.

you ever heard of trying to save every bit of cash and being a tight nit community help a member out?

$50 bucks is a freaking bargin. when i had my 34 i went to Daalder exhaust in box hill and they quoted me close to $200. same as other exhaust places would quote me $150-$200

charles cant remember if i replied to your sms or not lol (phone in car cbf checking) but i might be free next saturday. if not then it will be on the 23rd cause ill be in sydney for Armin on the weekend befroe that YAY lol

easy big fella. im all for helping a brother out dont get me wrong here, but you gotta admit that crawling around on my back in the dirt trying to fix an exhaust is never fun .

Maybe if you were as friendly with your local exhaust shop or mechanic wshop as you are your "tight nit communtiy of fellow forum members" you might find he doesnt rip you off so much.. so what if daalder quoted you 200, did you ever think to shop around?

If you cant at least attempt to tackle a job as simple as a front pipe on your own you may as well learn to start paying professionals. No offense intended charles, but this is a really simple job . There is 8 bolts holding it on, 9 including the o2 sensor. All you need is a basic set of metric spanners,a jack and some wd40. The only time it gets really tricky is when the bolts are rusted in hard in which case you will need an oxy and Ashneel wont be able to do that in your driveway ( unless he carries an oxy )which means you will need to take your car to a workshop of some sort.. If you cant do this on your own then maybe backyard mechanics isnt for you and you might as well start getting friendly with your local community of automotive workshops.

Anyway my advice is go buy a set of spanners and some wd40 and have a go youll be surprised how easy it can be. Then not only will you have a new front pipe, you will have a sense of pride yu did it yourself, a new set of spanners, half a can of wd40 and the knowledge to know you can do it all again

Man cannot survive on dump pipes alone! I'm all for DIY if it's piss or you plan on repeating the task, but if it's a job he's only going to do once in his life...pay the professional. Dump pipe is easy in your eyes but some people don't change their own oil let alone exhaust components

i did find a few clamps not as tight as they could of been . If that has fixed the problem im not 100 percent sure yet. I only got it running that morning so guess thats price i pay for rushing it.

Anyway im so annoyedf for spilling petrol all over my fresh paint and effing it that its coming apart again and getting powdercoated, Ill get the tune checked out again then..
