How far are you through your P2 license? Becuase I've got news for you and it's all bad.

It's not just as simple as removing the turbo to make it "P-plat legal". The engine is designed for a turbo and has a much lower compression ratio than a N/A engine. If you remove the turbo, the car will run like shit and be completely underpowered. And guess what? The car still isn't tehnically legal, because it's registered as a turbocharged car through the transport department.

People have tried this on more than one occasion, despite all common sense. The one conclusion they have sadly come to is that it's a waste of time and money.

Pro-tip. Drive a P-plate legal car until you're on an unrestricted license and buy a turbocharged car or buy a turbocharged car as a project, whilst still driving your original car.

Only got P2 about 3 months back I'm afraid.. hmm shall continue my search for p plate suitable skylines for sale then, thank you :)

basically you cant do it at all, just wait till your off ya p's bro, get something cheap and good on fuel, cause your gonna need it when your future skyline f**ks up.

or he wraps it around a tree..

do you have any defensive driving course under your belt? skid pan days? ever owned a high power car before?

buy a old r31... there na. although not hip hop in shape... and greatly underpowered with the rb30e.... there not bad.....

buy mine :) haha 2700 ono no sales pitch, i have no licence and wanting to get a 4wd...

Buy a cheap ford laser and drive it around until your off your p's buying a NA skyline is like banging your sister might of seemed like a good idea at the time but your never gonna want to admit it or live it down.

not quite sure what you being female changes. if anything it opens you up for blonde or kitchen/sammich jokes

before purchasing your car, perhaps invest in a less ambiguous name than casey.

from what i have seen being a female changes alot.. my housemates gf drives a s13 sr20det ... no front mount and looks standard and she has been pulled over heaps of times and never asked about it being turbo ... i could bet if it was a guy driving that would be the first thing they ask....Shes on green p's, has had this car since she got her red p's

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
