spotted two highway patrols in box hill today near the main tram stop - looks like they were ready to pounce on drivers on each side of whitehorse road

so im guessing they are getting ready to start the blitz >,<

Graeme you're the best.

I'm not surprised they're not using it... even our standard demerit point system is bonkers compared to some I've seen in Europe.

love the cops in Europe... was on the Autostrade in Italy doing about 130-140km/h in the left lane (fast lane) as there were a bunch of trucks in the other lane... a cop comes flying up behind me flashing his lights and tailgating me, I'm thinking fark is he pulling me over!? so I pull into the right lane when I get a gap between trucks and he takes off at least 150km/h+... I was in his way and he was in a hurry apparently lol

cops are always out in numbers here over easter... yaaawn... just make your other half drive... then you can have a few cheeky ones :nyaanyaa:;)

as far as i know vic has never had double demerits, every public holiday one of these threads pop up just google the answer will be right in front of you.

You mean in general? Happens every year bro...

Speed limits in italy etc are 130kmh in general.. my gf was born and lived in rome .. well since forever (she only really just moved here) and the one thing she is paranoid is of speed limits here.

Apparently italians generally don't give much of a shit while speeding, the whole "I'm 10kmh over the 130 limit and someone is telling me to GTFO out of the way" is pretty common. Even if it's the police, lol.

That said, always best to bust out the ol Camry on long weekends :P

Yah the European roads are brilliant quality as well. I drove in a 130 zone at 180 quite a bit of the way from Barcelona through Andorra to Claremont Ferrand, even past cops, and did't once have any trouble.

My motorcycle coach was a mechanic for the Repsol Honda Moto GP team for 17 years and they used to speed the massive trucks through the country, get pulled over then bribe the cops with merch lol. Then again my other friend who lives in Barcelona got beat up by the cops in the city. There's always a flip side I guess.

Ask the resident po po man here but to mynknowledge Victoria has NEVER had double demerits and certainly doesn't this weekend.

I wish there was double penalty for the idiot I caught tonight. Drives from western suburbs to eastern suburbs 45 minutes whilst heavily intoxicated. Hits the barrier in city link 3 times and keeps going, crashes into 2 cars in Glen Waverley and keeps going. Finally we catch him leaving the scene. He blows almost 6 times the limit. Nice effort IDIOT

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
