R34 Gtt Hitting Rev Limit

Hi everyone

I am having an issue with my car that i am worried about. When i take off in my car i seem to be hitting my rev limit very easily and it goes into the red revs and drops out. Feels like the whole car drops back. Admittedly i give it a bit not all of the time just when i am feeling adventurous. So i take off at the lights and i give it a bit and it just drops back like i reved it to hard but it never used to do it.

I have spoken to a few people and swem to get many different responses but all are just friends no professional mechanics. Some ideas people have come across are it needs the boost raised (as the only mod i have on my car is a apexi air filter everything is stock) spark plugs (so i changed them to laser platinum tip) still did it. and also something to do with a fuel filter but again i got a brand new one still does it. Any ideas ? Just for more info my car is an auto and i was worried it was the gear box.

I am very new to all of this so be kind i have been a bit worried to ask.

By the description, the clutch could be slipping very badly, do the revs climb but there is no gain in speed?

Hitting redline easily = gearbox the most likely candidate (unless you're spinning the back wheels

You would experience a slipping auto as a lot of revs but not much speed.

It might just need a service, but you'll have to take it to a mechanic for a proper diagnosis. Dont drive it hard until its been looked at.

Yeah i know i need to take it to a mechanic im just worried they are going to turn around and say my car is dying haha any suggestions for a good mechanic im from the campbelltown area dont mind the travel for a decent one.?

Strange I don't remember the auto part being on the end of the post, but anyway for peace of mind and to rule it out, I would change the autobox fluid

yeah sounds like the auto is slipping. if it is, take it to an automatic specialist, not a mechanic (since if there is an issue they'll only take it there anyway).
