certainly believe in a God before a big bang and whole series of accidents that formulate an entire intelligent race

Questionable

And just for interests sake, not stirring shit or taking the piss but what makes you certain of your belief in a higher power than anything else? Also what makes your God the right one as opposed to others?

Def questionable with some folk :rofl2:

In the same way you are so sure about evolution is what goes through my mind every time I look at the perfectly formed stars in their galaxies and everything else around us that just screams creation to me rather than accident.

I suppose we'll all be the wiser one day....hopefully not too soon though :P

Steve, you know how I am with religion, what I do and don't believe and why, I just do not, and forgive me here, do not understand how one can not come to terms with evolution. It's not a belief, it's not faith; there's scientific evidence that backs it......

And Pete, I don't think it says anything about her life choices at all. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, let people be and do what you feel is right. I don't think I need to go to church every weekend to be a good person, I have my own moral compass, my own code to live by. I know of many people with varying faiths that are pieces of shit and think because they pray and go to church it makes it ok. Conversely I also know of people without religion that are down right assholes too.... Either way, believe what you want to in your own time, take comfort in it and leave it at that. Not everyone will agree

Anyways, that's all

Totally well said and +1!

Fair enough mate :)

You see perfectly formed stars, I do too. I also see perfectly formed babies, then others who are disabled, disfigured, etc. How one so powerful can allow that to happen to an innocent.... it makes me genuinely cry. How my grandfather, who was in WWII, killed numerous men for his country and was a devout Catholic, could still get a seat in heaven after breaking one of the Ten Commandments, the cornerstone of Christian beliefs....; it just confuses me. I could go on and on but no one wants to hear

You're right though, we'll find out one day one way or the other and I definitely hope it's not too soon. I've got too much I want to do. Life's short

LOL, peeps keep adding to their original posts.

I do agree with one thing though Luke.....you will find assholes everywhere....including in the church unfortunately

Atheism isn't a sore point to me at all - I do not believe I've 'bitten so hard', despite what you might think. I do take issue with people posting incorrect information around - whether it's about cars, computers or atheism.

you just don't bite as hard when it's about cars, yeah?

One last question Pete.... I'll leave ya alone then

We're you born into your faith? Or did you find it along the way and it changed your life and the way you were living?

The way I see religion, and it's just me ( I'm trying to get you to see my understanding of it - not to agree with it :) ) is it's a tool for change; or depending on the situation - control. Whether or not there is a higher power up there, the faith that there is, gives people the strength they need to better themselves. Whether this is a terrible thing or not is questionable, I mean, so long as someone is good, what does it matter what they believe right?

The other argument is that the catholic church supports the theory of evolution

I mean if God is all knowing and omnipotent, then whats to say he/she/it didn't create the universe and the big bang, and guide the evolution of not only the human race, but every biological entity on the planet?

Whether or not God exists is a question too deep and it starts too many wars. If however God does exist, he/she/it is a hell of a lot smarter than us, so really, why worry?

-D

I know where you're coming from Luke.............I come from an Orthodox background by birth but that has Zero effect or influence on my belief system

...and unlike those street preachers that we've seen on the news lately that spew God's wrath and hate around without any love, I'm the last guy that would try to force anything down your throat.....it seems they have a bit of a distorted view of the bible and I'm not about to get into semantics on a public forum regarding these clowns who appear to have extremist views.

Have you guy that are claiming that there is no scientific proof actually actively looked into the field or are you just relying on what you have pick up during your life. Because if you actively look into it there is a lot more evidence for evolution that there is for creationism.

Also the formation of stars and galaxies are explained by Einstein's General relativity.

EDIT!!

This will end up being a fruitless debate for all involved.

Ouuuuuuuur whole universe was in a hot dense state, Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started. Wait... The Earth began to cool, The autotrophs began to drool, Neanderthals developed tools, We built a wall (we built the pyramids), Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries, That all started with the big bang!

    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
