Hey guys,

Just reaching out for some help as I'm trying to sell my 98 R34 GTT Turbo manual coupe but not having any luck.

The k's are on the higher side @ 172,000kms.

But the car is in good condition with only a couple of minor scratches.

Tried to sell it for $14,990 but have now dropped it to $13,990.

Please check my car out by clicking on my sig to see the for sale ad,

Let me know what price you think people are willing to pay.

I need it gone this week!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Jaylon

I bought a 34 recently with 145k on the clock for $10,500 and it had a fair bit of work done to it, Tein Suspension with an EDFC, 3" turbo back exhaust with a split dump pipe and a few other bits and bobs. It's in GREAT shape as well, just needed a little TLC in the engine bay.

It's a buyers market right now unfortunately mate.

Wow thats insanely cheap!

Was it manual and 2 door?

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to sell mine that cheap.

Might have to wait it out a bit and cut back some stuff on the wedding :(

$10,500 is cheap! I paid $8800 for my r33 s1 manual coupe with low km's and in good condition just over a year ago so I think the price your asking is decent. I'd pay $13990 if I was in the market for an r34 in good condition. Maybe take it off the market for a few months as there seems to be an abundance of skylines for sale at the moment and it's so hard to compete when some are selling for next to nothing.

$14k is cheap for an r34 compared to others advertised...

yours is high km's but they all are in reality yours just has not had a haircut...

my point is advertised averages does not tell you what its worth, its worth what someone is willing to pay...

maybe take it off the market and bring it back onto the market via carsales after tax time at $14k ono...

Yeah fair enough,

I went into it thinking $15k would be sweet,

but now I realise what people are willing to pay for it.

I have one guy keen,

he's willing to pay $13k so I think I might have to bite the bullet and settle for 13.

Thanks for all your advice!

Since buying my 34 I keep an eye on the market eg. carsales and threads on here, and 34 sales (and perhaps most turbo's?) seem to be quite stagnant. Clean examples with low k's that would have been advertised for $20k + at the start of the year are now opening at 17-18k. I know a few 34's that are STILL on carsales that were floating around when I started looking for cars 6mths ago. Assuming they are as good as the owners and pictures say, they simply have not dropped in price and hence do not sell.

From a buyers point of view the k's on your car would be a turn off, although it looks really clean and has a few nice mods. Love the front lip, have the same on my car

Just remember its not a vs/vt/vx commodore or a 4cyl runaround, just gotta hang out for the right buyer. gl

good luck mate, puts a downer on me as one day i will have to sell mine too, and I know how hard its guna be..I bought mine for 14k a year ago with 86000kms and it had a few tasty mods to boot.

Hmm good point.

It's just that I needed it gone a couple of weeks ago to pay for wedding stuff so I'm in a bit of trouble with money.

Was thinking this would sell quicker if I drop the price.

Hope people haven't been turned off!

This is gonna sound like a really stupid question,

but what can you use to write on the windows of your car?

Carsales never sent me the for sale sticker and I've emailed them countless times for it.

Thanks.

If it's still for sale in a couple of months, I'll take it off your hands for the money you're asking mate.

I'm starting a new job within the month and I'll be making a lot, so it all depends on how long I have to be working to get a loan, but if your car is still there, I'm keen as mustard.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
