Hi all

It's been half a year since I have done the conversion. I thought it might be worth to share some of the experiences gained from the conversion.

I had been planing this conversion for 2-3 years, and read endless amount of info through out the 2 years period and gather parts over the 2009 period.

The conversion itself was done 100% by myself, mechanical, eletrical, eletronic, hydraulic, and even Tunings. parts are souces from veries places, here, Yahoo japan, Ebay, and even firesports. Where ever cheap and good.

Brought the R34 GT-T auto last year and stripped the drive line and replaced it with the R34 GTR 6 speed V-spec 2 drive line (including the 4WD computer) over the Xmas period. I was lucky enough to get hold of the drive line off a 30k wracked car off yahoo (spot on compression readings). Took me 15 days from the raising the car first till the engine fired up. and 10 days to finish off the remainings. Ovbiously alot of swearing and cursing over that period but Overall it was nice and quick.

The car's exterior remained bone stock at the moment but it will be converted to a Z tune body latter on. runing 0.5 bar boost with R32 Power FC, I will be runing 1-1.1 bar latter on when I have strengthen the chassis. Exact KW? I duno because I tuned the car on the freeway :pirate:

Unforunately I stopped taking photos in the pass few months however if people intersted I will keep this topic alive and keep uploading the pics

Anyway.....Enjoy the pics :)

you are a legend mate. :) great project. it's been a popular one over the years as some people quite liked the 34 4door look but wanted GTR driveline in the 4 door body. seems like a good plan to start with a fairly cheap auto R34 sedan and stick in a 34 GTR driveline.

why the switch to 32/33 wiring/ecu/ignition etc? just for ease of bits etc?

well done mate. you're a brave man to take it on and I'll be the result is lots of fun. :)

Thanks for the comment mate  . This is actually a 2 door R34 skyline. I have redrilled the holes on the front Chassis and cut out a fairly big section on the driver side floor pan to accomondate the GTR drive line.

The reason I am running R32/33 wiring is they dont have the Nissan Anti Thief system which imobilizes the ECU if you dont have the currect GTR key........No reason to play around with that and protentially will give me alot of problem down the track, hince i converted it.

ahh, yeah anti theft. you know if you buy a 34 Power FC it disables the anti theft system? it's actually not very complex but I can see why you'd go that way to avoid it.

HA didn't know that, I thought the R34 PFC is so call 'complete replacement'? So i assumed the Anti thief was functional too. Anyway what is been done is done:) Only a few wire re-pin anyway.

yeah it's a complete replacement ecu which means once you remove the factory ecu the car no longer has the anti-theft capabilities. easy way for fkers to steal R34s I guess... the stock nissan security is pretty weak anyway. but yeah it's no biggie to swap between 32/33 and 34 type wiring/ign/ecu set-up.

Got some stuff Tidy up. Fitted the hard pipe as the old rubber crap was leaking. Tweaked the boost to 1 bar and retuned.

As for the front sub-frame. I pack it up by using a couple of 4mm plates to give clearance to the shaft. Mainly is the right shaft, Left shaft is fine. But I will be fabricating the subframe mounting point and start cutting into the chassis rail for the proper geometry.

Here are some of the pics.

1.Momo Steering wheel.

2. custom gearbox mounting bracket. and FC logit data hub.

3. custom gearbox mounting bracket. and FC logit data hub.

4. Fujisubo 3" exhaust

5. R34 V spec 4wd Hydraulic pack. With industrial grade hydraulic pipe and fittings (rated 4400 PSI burst pressure >_<doubt the pack can get a quarter of pressure)

6. Boot custom wiring for the 4wd/ABS computer.....god took me VERY long to find the damn plug into the damn thing.

7. Relays for 4wd and A-lsd

8. Engine bay. New intercooler pipe fited.

9. Took the air-cond out, never gonna run it anyway. Fitted r33 intercooler due to smaller size for better response.

10. gtr bumper

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
