So, in the event of rain, shall we postpone or just suck it up?

Suck it up, I need to practice my rain driving :P

After the hillclimb yesterday my tyres are exactly how they were before I entered, even though they were spinning 90% of the time... that's one hell of a way to save money on tyres :P

right back at you.

Yeah heaps , though I can still take victory as its my car :P.

Oooh , r34 , specs?

Its a pretty much standard R34 (stock intake/exhaust/internals), slightly lowered (Tien S-tek springs), nistune ECU @ 175kW, RDA gold slotted/dimpled rotors and EBC greens.

diff is fixed, thermostat is replaced, tow hooks on, battery reloc done, killswitch nearly in, oil flush tomorrow, car is pretty much set! yay! bring on 61's! gonna skip past the 62 lap time mark :-P i got a certain red starion to beat!

yep nice , out of curiosity , what sort of power was it making before the nistune? i only ask because mine feels rather soft (it probably isn't , but the last turbo car i had had 200rwk+ ) , that wouldn't be the silver one i see getting round claremont-ish now and then? .

I might even bring my black snotter out sunday , see if it's faster than the hq pinch.gif , i'll see if i can find smaler diameter wheels for it

Sunday 14 August

Min 4

Max 13

Morning fog.

Cloudy. Patches of morning frost in the north. Areas of morning fog. Light winds.

Sounds like the perfect day, hopefully no rain but some nice low intake temps for your turbo charging pleasure :D

Yeah, I'm out Austin's Ferry way so that'd be me. It was about 140kW standard, ~ 150kW on 10psi pre-tune.

yep cool , i live out that way too :) , i thought they'd go a lil better than a stock 33 , mine seems about the same as one  not that i've revved it past 5k

what a day hey!

Huge turn out, met lots of new people.

Did anyone manage to beat their old PB?

I know Tim got a 68.

Dan got a 72 in the 33 and a 69 in the 34

Leesa got a 76 in the R34

Old mate in the starion pulled out an awesome 61.3!

Funz you were hovering around the 63 mark yeah?

Thanks to everyone that gave me a hand today with my very sad skyline (especially toffy for lending me his car\trailer).

.... I guess I have heaps of bits to sell now if anyone needs anything :P

Might be curious for brake setup and 5 stud conversion for my S13 maybe, or even the motor. Just waiting for the sale of the 4 door.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
