Run Melbourne: Let's Raise A Cure For Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I have registered for my first 10km fun run, on the 17th July 2011, in the Run Melbourne event; to “raise money to find a Cure for Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes”. I am dedicating my first run to a close family friend that unfortunately passed away at the age of 26yrs (9 years ago) due to complications that occurred, directly related to Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. This charity means a lot to me and I would be extremely grateful if you could donate to this important organization.

- To donate, just click on the link below or copy it into the URL box:

Donate Link

- Click on the “DONATE NOW” button, on the top right hand corner.

- Then simply follow the steps.

- In the “Team member” field please select “Calleja, Alan

Thank you all for your generous support to a great cause!!

Just FYI, the event itself is not specifically for one single cause...teams nominate their own charity and achieve donations for them. For example, my team's charity is The Heart Foundation.

Should be running in it Ant

Hahaha the only things I run for are a ball and maybe cake...

...quickly followed by a snack if its the former or my insulin shot if its the latter ;)

Didn't know that myself. So thanks for clearing that up too

Was approached by a friend, that is a Personal Trainer, to enter the event and raise money for JDT1 and i assumed that the event was run for JDRF.

Either way; all donations made via the link in the first post will be given to the JDRF organization/charity.

No worries, I reckon it's pretty cool you can choose your own charity. Some of the lesser known ones are gainin good support through events like this. It's a shame the interface for the donations website sucks big time.
