RIPae86
Hey Long story short, the car span 180 degrees and hit the curb on the passenger side maybe about 20km (was traveling under 60kms and was braking for a long time during the spin) bending the tire inwards (lowest part of the hub pointing inwards toward the engine) while I had the wheel turned right. All I can see is this damage. (sorry its upside down) What is this part called? What other parts may be damaged and need replacing? Car is a r32 gts4 Thanks in advance! RIPae86
Eh, I'm up late trying to do some research but so tired. At the moment im thinking its the lower control arm that bent. It looks like gtr and gtst lower control arms are the same. Anyone confirm this? blind_elk
Yes, lower control arm is bent. The GTS4 arm is the same as the GT-R. I have a LH arm available. GTRsean
Replace the two ball joints on that arm while you are at it. Probably been weakened too. RIPae86
Im assuming the ball joint connects the control arm to the chassis? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/368214-just-hit-a-curb-and-car-wont-drive-straight/#findComment-5872886 Share on other sites

boostn0199
Also make sure to check your hub isnt bent aswell. When I smacked my rear control arm thought that was the only problem replaced to see still probelm there when had closer look the hub had twisted and deformed. Duchie
Hey mate, just thought i'd add that you may need to get the caster rod realigned. Just get a wheel alignment to check that everything is ok Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/368214-just-hit-a-curb-and-car-wont-drive-straight/#findComment-5885384 Share on other sites
Dose Pipe Sutututu
I would change that caster rod too. Most likely the rose joint is damaged now due to the impact. I would also check the steering tie rods, and tie rod ends for damage, as sometime massive shocks like that "may" fracture the tie rod ends Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/368214-just-hit-a-curb-and-car-wont-drive-straight/#findComment-5885816 Share on other sites
ahh 33 s2
yeh my mate has done this to both of his front wheels, also not drifting on a street, both times we changed the control arm and castor rod, and some how it worked that no alignment was needed, just lucky i spose, Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/368214-just-hit-a-curb-and-car-wont-drive-straight/#findComment-5889661 Share on other sites
