Just took my clutch out to change it and was always really curious to what clutch it was since its withstood 2 years off 260kw and 6months off 310kw with hard driving since its a drift car. How is this possible?

Its the quality of the item. My exedy cushioned 8 puk clutch withstood 3 years of 310rwhp and alot of abuse. Thats why i only ever use that brand of clutch.

Not trying to talk them up, other peoples opinions may differ

Too many factors involved in it...clutches are extremely variable. People have killed triple plate clutches in 5000km, others have made the OEM replacement hold up forever and a day. It's pretty bloody random. Exedy are very good clutches though. Noisy, but strong.

Depends how you drive more than torque.

The static torque and dynamic torque ratings are VERY different. ie. static torque is not slipping, dynamic is slipping.

Most clutches are rated at torque levels (and power levels derived) not to exceed dynamic torque. But only drag racing is likely to cause the clutch to have to engage near max torque (ie. full boost at 4500rpm).

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
