Is it just spinning or have you rounded the hex head off?

rounded :( its alright, only rounded on one bit of the nut, so i undid it further up the line and then took it off and got around the other side.

worked a treat ahah, not keen about putting it back on, will probably source another.

lots of brands make flare nut spanners. I got some KC tools - they are sweet for cheap. Make sure they are derived from 6-point spanners not 12-point.

For flare nut (and open ender) spanners its worth spending the dollars to get a good brand IMO. I have some KC flare nut spanners and while they're nicely made i sort of wish i'd gone kinchrome or equivalent. For ring spanners or sockets i'd imagine the KC stuff would be great.

www.vektools.com.au - i think i got my KCs from there too.

And you can get away with say two pipe or flare nut spanners [covering 4 sizes] and they will fit just about every size you will come across in the auto world. So not a big expense really. I have Dowidat ones, top shelf stuff, had em for a while.

probably a vice grips or a small plumbers wrench with the serrated teeth?

there is a tool that I've got that is similar to those and locks on to the nut end, strangely enough, I think its Dowidat as well. I'll have a look when I get home, but I reckon several tool makers would have something like it. Its a butchering tool for when all else fails.

The other tool that comes to mind is a stud remover, but you'd have to have the other end of the pipe undone so you could slip it over and down onto it because these tools are not open ended.

When one of my turbo lines was just stretching the KC flare nut spanner apart and rounding off the edges, i just cut off the pipe off so i could use a socket, and it came out easily. I figured it was already stuffed enough to warrant replacement, so no problems in cutting it off.

I have used hose spanners for brake work. You usually end up rounding the nuts anyway. The are better than open ended spanners buy not by much.

Now I just use vice grips for undoing stuff. Irwin have a huge range of them. Find the right size with a straight end & you will be fine.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
