yeh i thoguth so to plus 99% of the population, however one member had worries about his son stikin his peepee in an exhaust, i think the issues wasnt with my avator

I say do it, good learning experiance :whistling:

take the 3 months, & take public transport...

buses have much bigger exhaust pipes

haha good call, i have been using public transport for past year, and im also taking the 3 months as i havent found a decent GTR in melbourne yet, but dont worry shes out there :) i hope lol

the only problem is with insurance premiums. If you take the 3 month option then that is classified as a lost or suspension of license and hence premiums will rise. I chose the 1 point option , but i did drive like a granny for a year . food for thought ....

Was just about to post this also!

I had the same thing happen to me years and years ago, had the option of 1 pt or 3 month suspension, took the 1 pt suspension and drove sedately for a year, by the time the year was over I had completely forgotten about the 1 pt and didn't realise until a couple months after I had my full 12 pts back. As mentioned if you choose the 1 pt option, you are not classified as having a license suspension (which sticks with you for 5 years btw before insurers no longer ask), it's already hard enough to get insurance having a modified import, try doing it with a license suspension on top of that...

yeh its true we are the nanny state its rediculous. and thats it nath cant wait :D cheers boys

ive already had my lisence suspended for 12 months

Wow I hope you never get an R34 GTR, you are too stupid for words, and as such you will ruin it. There aren't that many of them out there, we do not need retards like yourself destroying those that are left, and, in the process, eroding our already dismal standing with the public further.

Also, I thought your "avator" was shit. Not because I am offended by it, but because of its general shitness.

Oh and if I could recommend using Google Chrome, if you have enough brain cells to bash together to figure out how to, it has an inbuilt spell checker. If you can figure out how to use that as well. Which I doubt.

Ian if i signed up to an English forum then fair enough, but i didnt, and im on the iphone so sorry if i made the odd spelling mistake

1. i never asked for your opinion on my AVATOR

2. i never asked for an english lesson

and 3. you must be one sad c*** to proof read my threads to pick out the odd spelling mistakes, go do something constructive with your time you keyboard warrior. i have worked since 14 to save and purchase my dream car and im not going to have some wank*r like yourself tell me i dont deserve one. i will not ruin the car i get. so how about you get a life, reply to threads your wanted in and eff off. people like you with such attitude deter us young generation to not be apart of the SAU. we are off all ages, and things will be funny to different age groups. i thought it was amusing so i did it so stop being a hero because before your post we were all having a good conversation.

Plenty of grammatical moral fags on here so just ignore them. The problem I find on here is that when someone creates a thread, it ends up changing to something completely petty and irrelevant hence why I hardly post on here.

If someone wants to criticise about utter bullshit, then I recommend on not f*king post a word on here. I think the OP has received enough input from actual people that provide a legit answer hence the thread should be locked to prevent further crap being said (avators etc.)

seriously man im reading your post over and over again

Awesome. Perhaps the message sank in.

But, I have been accused, somewhat truly, of derailing the thread, from its original subject of your license suspension to the current subject of your retardation. For that I digress, and I repent. Let us discuss your suspension, your options and what I think you should do.

Take the 1 point for 12 months.

It will not take long for you to loose said point, and then, you will be off the road even longer.

Which will be even more awesome.

lol good luck with finding a GTR, far and few between, then theres quality..

good your taking the 3 months, if you've lost your license before its probably better that you have the full refreshed points!

licence guy

+ Eleventy

found it a crap drawing but nothing to get your knickers in a twist over, it never ceases to amaze me how much the mods (self appointed or otherwise) in this forum freak out at the slightest sniff of anything vaguely smutty or titillating, welcome to SAU where its always 1957 small town USA

anyhoo rant over, i recommend the 3 month option. lets you save a bit more for mods and takes that weight off your shoulders for 12 months, im one of those drivers RB25 would put in the 'stupid bastard that never learns' category and went the 12 month option (kinda needed to for my job as a bus operator). Got all the way to the final month and got done for doing 65 in a 60 zone.

Dumb i know but i had been trying up till then, only takes one mistake though and your back on the bus...though not driving it :(

btw been driving for 4 yrs now with nary a scratch on my licence, time to spend some of those points me thinks..

cheers hamilitonau appreciate the support.. likewise run-it-hard. there is genuine people on this forum. but there some effed up losers. like IAN.. which his mums morning after pill failed.

i got done doing 55 over the limit. stupid story. had a taxi waiting for me to head into the city. mates were bustin my chops. and stupidly enough i sped. ive learnt from my error and wont do it again. even in a GTR .

    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
