my suggestion.

Is to go drive a few 32Rs and then you will officially want one. I used to have one, and living in the north, without secure parking means well, my car went missing about a month after i moved here. I really should have continued staying in the east, but hindsight is always 20/20.

i'm getting a soarer on saturday, so cant help you with the test ride. but i'm always keen to meet new people..

Dude that sucks..seriously..unfortunately I have heard of a few stories of skylines being stolen in the past. One that I remember clearly is the MP 34 vspec 2 that was stolen from essendon Westfield on the back of a truck. I am para too but I guess you just have to take all preventative measures and make sure you have full comp.

Regarding driving the 32R's I'm assuming you mean to go to somebody whos currently got one for sale and ask for a test drive? I would if I was buying locally, but I'm honestly looking to import through yoshi. I find it a bit cruel to ask someone for a test drive when I'm not even intending to buy their car, just so I can test their car out. That's why I have chosen to take this approach, so I can meet people and make some friends along the way.

Glad to hear you've got the soarer lined up, and I'm sure it'll be well locked up of not already in a safe carpark!

wheel clamps and shit planned out.

But why import? There are decent ones for sale. I did have full comp, but they're slow anyway. So my dad is sponsoring the car till i get the insurance money.

this one, i went to see this car, it is in very good condition, and quite a nicely modified example, i would have gotten it, if not for the fact that I am actually counting on investing some money. I'll be in a gt-r end 2012 though. hopefully, to outrun the earthquakes when the world ends.

Alvin, just checked out that one, does seem quite good. Thanks for that mate. I'll try and organize with the buyer to check it out :) cheers for that. What really interests me is that it was tuned by race pace. From the little that ive researched, he's one of melbourne's more popular tuners?

yup, and its a good price, offer him 15, and you'll be set, it comes with stock parts too, so can prolly sell all the stock parts and get some money back..

i really wanted the car, tell andrew that i said sorry for not buying his car, i really liked it,

has a few dents but nothing a few hundred dollars cant fix.

Gosh..it's too good to be true! In all honesty, what else other than a couple of dents did you notice about this car? E.G rust in boot/undercar, chassis damage, condition of body/interior not matching km etc

I didn't expect to come across one so neat so quickly. I was hoping to have found one in Japan in November when I'm there for 2 weeks or when I get back. I was going to set out a good 6 months of searching for a decent R.

I've already PM'ed him so we'll see when I can go over to have a look at it.

Decisions!!

Whoa dude, you must be waiting to get spanked..red p plates driving a 33 vspec? lol

Another one came up tonight for $16k. Gunmetal grey as well.

Nowhere near as equipped as the other one though, and it looks pretty average even in photos..in real life; probably worse.

But hey, gotta see it to find out I guess.

Ahh fair enough. I can swear on a left one that I've seen a 33gtr driving past me when I left work once. I couldn't tell if it was black or MP cos it was getting dark when I clocked off.

But yeah, I'm sure you've seen that grey evo 8mr around too. Looks gorgeous but still a cheater's car :P

Funny you say you see many skylines roaming around that area; I must be coming out at the wrong times!

EVO9 perhaps?

The owner is a Club Member/Mate also, he lives in the same block i do hehe.

I walk to/from work though, infact i walk almost everywhere as its all 5mins (Vic St, Viet) etc.

Hence i see a lot more than a 1-2min drive through would

lol i would hate to admit it but when we pulled over on the side of the road, i had to piss sooooooo bad. so go around the corner and unleash a torrent on someones fence. then i hear the sound of multiple RB's starting up and pulling away. i sprint as hard as i can and get back to the car and speed off using the sound of the others as a guide, i catch up and am following leigh. leigh pulls over. i stop to check if hes alright, thus losing the others. ended up finding alex and some of the others that were also lost lol

Ah so you had your little crank out of its pouch and were caught unawares?

Yeah, it has some weird exhaust on though, not quite sure what that is, but it does look stock or something. Go see it, and tell me. No problems. Interior is in good condition, didn't spot any rust on hinges or corners. Its kept under shelter all the time. So yeah, he takes care of his car.

great, i texted him this morning so just waiting on a reply from him to see when i can go have a look at it.

What's everyone up to tonight?

I was planning to have a quiet night at home, but I'm keen as mustard to meet some of you guys and girls.

so, allow me to propose:

GARAGE CAFE

221 Berkeley Street

Melbourne VIC 3000

(03) 9349 5000

TONIGHT (29/07/11)

7PM onwards

And I'm up for anything afterwards if everyone else is.

Let me know peeps

Yeah, it was more of a spontaneous thing, and also cos everyone seems to be hibernating in winter so I was trying to get you's revved up a little :)

But hey if nobody's free tonight, then yeah I reckon a car wash night tomorrow night sounds like a plan!

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
