A friend of ours had an mspec front bar, then swapped it for a 400R front bar, then wanted my mspec bar because he hated the 400R.

I personally don't like the look of a skyline with just a 400R front bar. The bar is lower than the rest of the car and looks yucky.

My 2 cents

400R bar is awesome it was designed by Nismo Specifically for the R33

I love mine, although i have a new one now.. 400r again :D

You need to have sideskirts with it otherwise it does look too chunky on the front

If its mounted properly its not TOO low, however you do need to be carefull on just about every driveway

It is lower than most, but thats what comes with the bar and its looks :)

The GTR style bar on my GTST is about 140mm from the ground. Its not too bad as long as you are careful. I crunched it pretty bad a few months ago but that had nothing to do with the height. Opps!

The Stock GTR is currently 200mm off the ground. Have to do something about that!

Yeah, mines pretty low too.

Just beware of underground or multi story carparks.

At least with an evil speed bump you can back up and go over at an angle or even turn around.

Not so in a carpark thats only one lane wide, with 10 cars stuck up your ass.

Oh and avoid that dirt carpark behind the Regatta. it has potholes that'll tear your bonnet off!

hahaha, yeah i found out about the reggatta car park the hard way.

My front bar is 110mm, but the problem is that my front bar is so much longer than most, it cops a hiding just driving down a bumpy road, its stupid, simple answer is that if u want a low car, cracks and scrapes are inevitable.

I got a 400R bar on my skyline as well. Not only is it sit a little to low, it also sits forward a bit more than a lot of other bars making slightly steep driveways / gutters etc a bit of an issue also.

The skyline still sits at standard hight, so i will be replacing the bar before i drop it.

leigh.

When i bought my car with the 400r front bar allready on it, it was 70 ****ing mm off the ground! When i went crusing for the first week through most of the ' lap ' spots i could not drive over the speed bumps, i could not drive into certain drive ways, i could not drive into my own driveway, i could not get into servo's or bloody anywhere. After cracking the shits and the bar a few times i got the springs done and raised to 110mm, which still i have to go up certain speed bumps and driveways on angles, which sucks big time, but most things are allright, you just have to go up slow, then it's all good. I would suggest about a 130mm ride hite, it's still pretty damn low but you should be able to navigate most things straght onwards, this is with 18's aswell. I also believe that you need some sort of bigger side kirts otherwise the bar does tend to make the car look big at the front with the stock skirts, nismo side skirts are good and look the part. Overall the 400r bar is awsome, it gives the whole of the car a much more aggresive look, it almost looks evil. Get it!

I gave my Bomex front bar a good crack when i misjudged the distance to a kerb at uni. It's the worst feeling in the world. What made it worse is that the bar is still around legal height, n bumps and anything else are no problem. Sometimes the fact that an aftermarket bar juts out a little bit more than usual can get u into trouble too. The bar is now actually cracked, but not where u can see it...just underneath. sux!

If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
