our format was 1-6 so i was told by the navigator

Lucky they didn't land near Symmons Plains.... LOL. A 5 is normally 4th gear for me... But hey, everyone sees it different. And if someone was to buy our notes, they would probably find inaccuracies(sic)

TT

A bloody WRX won Targa this year!

Nothing more to say!

Not happy!

Alright, I had something else to say.

Tony Sullens WON Targa this year, he just happened to be driving a WRX, A privately imported non Oz model WRX... So he was in an import, not a VW, and he is under 55yo.

He'll do me

TT

if any of you guys noticed how much time jason white lost due to a faulty fuel pressure regulator and then how much time he gained once it was fixed, he would surely have been on the podium, made up some rediculous time on the last day.

oh and did anyone hear about jim richards, apparently his on board computer logged that the car didn't have traction for over a kilometer in one stage on day 5, crazy shit

I think Jason is one of the most under rated wheel men going round... He could have been Marcus Ambrose, but he isn't... could have won Targa a couple of times, but hasn't...

We all have if-but-maybe stories - I have one, Cricky has one, and the boys from Sydney have one! At the end of the day Whites finished second, and what a mighty job they did. But please, I'm sick of the - when he's on fire every thing is great, but when they are not having such a good run its a $2.00 part - they prepared the car, and that is all part of the package.

And that kilometer of Richo's would have to be on Arrowsmith (42k to 47k mark Snow)- I have an RPM suit that logged quite a few traction issues.

Now Phat, thanks to you and all your mates who do the stand on the side of the road and make it happen thing... they dont always do the best job possible, but they try their best I am sure. For those who are unaware, they get yelled at, swore at, and rained on, snowed on... some even blown away. It would be easier to go and watch the stage somewhere with an eski. So a sincere thanks.

We are back next year with a bigger budget (Bunnings is bringing in new sponsors) and maybe a N1... So right now I'm trying to buy a house with a decent shed so we can prepare it.

Ciao TT

Will any of it be on TV?

Mark your diaries now - the Southern Cross Television one-hour special on Targa Tasmania 2004 will be shown in Tasmania on Southern Cross Television at 6.30pm on Saturday 22 May 2004 and will be shown nationally on the Ten Network at 1pm on Sunday 27 June 2004.

Enjoy

Ciao TT

Hey TT, I understood the White's car is under protest for alleged illegalities, heard anything about it?

Q: What do you do when you are a car manufacturer and you look like being hosed by a couple Tassy Hillbillys?

A: Tell everyone who wants to listen that the offending hillbillys have a car that does not comply.

In order to do this you spread rumour and hopefully it will do the hillbillys head in..

(All this is only my opinion)

I think strut braces, dump pipes and intercooler issues where going to be questioned. But as far as I am aware, they didn't go ahead... (therefore no need to prove legallity).

The Whites are very clever, and if there is a way to gain advantage I am sure they would do it... but they have also been doing the car thing for a while and would be able to stay within the rules.

There maybe some washup but doubt it. The actual finger pointing was at a few R34 "N1's" -not just the Whites - as there were three top running cars and they all looked different under the bonnet. A good N1 is hard to find LOL

TT

PS The car manufacturer had nothing to gain after two excursions and a tire penalty.

Exactly the same problem we have in production car racing too. At least the white's car started line as a genuine N1.

while on the topic of spectators...

i was shocked to hear alot of the triabunna locals bagging the crap out of the driver of an e30 bmw that broke down coming up to 3rd last(i think) corner of the stage. they werent just bagging out the car but they were saying some pretty rude things about the driver. (also apparently their 2litre VB commodore would beat them :headspin: )

to them:  :usuck: :Bang:

.............................................................................

also TT i just discovered i have a couple of pics (digital) of your car on the last corner of the domain stage.. but they are a bit blurry, anyway do you want them?

Well never under estimate a two-head with his back to the wall!

The Telecast version of the Targa Video that went to air included the "delta hydraulics scoreboard" I think I can safely say that there will be no issues with the #934 car... Also had some onboard stuff that showed the car on "Fuel Cut" for about 10sec.

The Sydney boys didnt make the TV version with their showboating at Ross, but the guy driving the Bunnings Skyline who altered his line to fire rocks at the film crew did... LOL

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
