Put your banner in a golf bag with no clubs etc... Golf bags fly for free! You could also put heaps of other stuff in it to bring back to Oz. (maybee put a putter in just incase they check?)

when i was at the oam i think i only saw about 3 foreigners,and i went on all 3 days .i thought that there would be a lot more ,so tas should be great.

Nah mate - way too much hassle taking a car IMHO: Aside from nightmare traffic going through Tokyo to Chiba, you've got hellish traffic around the messe and then the difficulty of finding somewhere to park. That's not even considering the cost of parking...

I think it's easier, cheaper and less stressful on the train.
