Yeah, thanks Stevo. That Route looks good.

I'll try to do a google map, directions and some research on a good lunch snack in Albury. I'm a morning person so suits me just fine - as long as I have my coffee.

Anybody else interested in getting a decent CB radio so we can chit chat on the way?

Yeah I'd be keen. $$??

You get to sleep in :P.

Nah nothing on Friday thats super special. But getting down there at 6 PM when everyone is getting ready for dinner and us clowns have to unpack cars would suck!

yeah exactly!

PLenty of time to unpack, get ready for Winton the next day and relax with a few bruski's before dinner!

Which Quest?

Fap Quest or Pedo Quest?

No Fapping for me... :whistling:

I can make it on 1 stop so I am fine.

I think what Steveo suggested is the best bet.

Leave PH servo at about 630, Yass to

Pick up the Canberra crew then Albury for a quick stop.

I'll just do a quick fuel dash at every stop we have!

You're on E85? How do you propose to do fuel stops?

I have no idea drew, richard (Sinista32) booked a couple of apartments at quest somewhere... I'll find out where exactly :)

Also I went from canberra to albury and back on e85 with 2*20L jerry cans... How many are you taking?

You going to have the CDI on before the mats Eric?

Yup, Ran all day at Texi ok then on the way to dinner my spark issue returned and has been there ever since. So CDI to obliterate all spark issues! Hope it's ready for the Drag Day.

Here is the CB I'm looking at. It's a 2W unit so should be 4x more powerful than my .5 W POS. They sell a twin set for $250 or a Single for $150.

Twin Set

Single Set

If you are ok with it then I'll go pick up a twin set. You can have the battery charger/doc cause I have lots of battery chargers.

I think 15 should do it.... I'm not joking..

We took 11 last time for DECA. We ducked into Melbourne to fill up 5 empties. I had about 3 full ones by the time I got home.

Ontop of that, this is a trackday! I'm going to watch the needle fall!

Even with how the lagwagon goes, there wasnt NEARLY as much WOT at Deca as there is at Winton.

Your thing sucks as hard as a hooker trying to pay the rent.

Just get a tanker.

Ethanol sensor would be the go. Hopefully that could be in and working by then.

On the freeway though I think a fair bit can be saved (when the 5's go on) for the simple reason that it wont be choofing.... choofing = AFM have a brain fart which = mega squirt from injectors.

    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
