in the city. pitt st and park near that maccas and opp galeries victoria. im in there a lot, have a hand held one already but its shite so considering an upgrade for the cruise.

are these prices good?

Eric I'm starting to think you are on crack with the organisations of this "cruise"

It's 6 hours from Syd to Wang and another 45mins from Wang to Shep. Now I do this drive quite regularly quite a few times a year.

I think you have your times out. The times between Phesants and Yass are out and the times between Albury and Shep are out.

There is no way in hell I'm going to be meeting at Phesants at 6.30 am that would mean I would have to be leaving my house at 5 am and be up at 4am!

Beau and I normally leave by about 10am when we drive down and normally end up at Wang at about 4pm this is allowing 2 stops including a lunch break and petrol.

+ your 45mins to get to Shep which would mean more sleep in time.

P.s

Castle hill to Phesants 1.5hrs

Phesants nest to Yass 205kms 1.8hrs

Yass to Albury 281kms 2.5hrs

Albury to Shep 175kms 1.6hrs

Being more realistic about the situation it is a long drive. calculating in stops and people f**king about I would say it would be more realistic for everyone to meet at Phesants at 8.30 for a 9am departure. That should get you in Shep at around 4 -4.30pm

well i'm relying on google which can be hit and miss. Also had to pin the petrol stations from the sat view. I think the times got farked. I havent done this pass so relying on that info. I need to recheck all the legs again.

as for starting time, much later for me (and others) and you're into commuter traffic that's unpredictable.

Well considering Beau and I pretty much do this run quite frequent we pretty much know the distances and times. The only traffic you are going to get getting on to the M4/M7/ whatever way you are heading to get to Phesants and getting in to Albury. Best place to stop would be BP at Glenrowan because its on freeway = no traffic. The rest is free way so you don't hit any traffic. Going away from the city.

yeah i go to bed so late there would be no point sleeping if we made it half six..any chance u could creep it 30 min to an hour or so later Eric?

on behalf of all the insomniacs on SAU...please...

Corinne that's pretty much what I said in the NSW thread about this (about meeting so early) but no one cared! lol

I care Shell, Sorry I missed the post. I just think this plan is overenthusiastic. It would require most people to be up at 4am to get there on time.

4 am is a bit of an exaggeration. Doesn't take 2.5 hrs to get there unless you live somewhere up the central coast or beyond. But I get what ya mean. I'd have to be on the road by 5:30.

Can someone check this? I've re-done the google map fail thingo - I think it was a quirk that google will make you back-track sometimes if your stops get out of order. GOOGLE MAP

Maybe we poll folks about start time. Steve-O, Paul and Brett were pretty keenolio for the early start. I'm ok as long as we don't go beyond 8 am as I'll have traffic problems.

Oh, and my thought on those petrol stations on the way to Yass is that if you need petrol or to pee just stop and rejoin the group in Yass. No need to stop the whole group.

1.5hrs from castle hill to phesants but it would still take most people an hour to stuff around at get shit organise before they have to leave the house.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
