both are true. but when it comes to getting the car off the line cleanly slipping the clutch is better. why do you think f1 cars run a dual stage clutch system?

when we talk about slipping the clutch we basically mean taking off normally, but faster, not riding the clutch like a learner driver. for rwd cars you are best off stalling it up on the handbrake. so handbrake on, build revs, let the clutch up to friction point so the rear end starts to squat a bit. when the light goes green drop the handbrake and let the clutch up.

ahh I see, Cheers everyone!

I dont feel so clueless now haha, was most worried about the launch

Guys how much of a difference would getting a lower 60ft make? Now being honest, i think i'll have trouble getting it below 2.2 sec.

My times were

14.847 @ 95MPH 2.307 60ft, couldn't select 4th so let off before the finish line

14.623 @ 97MPH 2.315 60ft, Held 3rd over the line, hit the rev limiter before the finish line

14.703 @ 95MPH 2.424 60ft, Launched too hard, but managed to select 4th gear.

Next time i'll be turning up my timing slightly, running decats & semi slicks. Spewing i don't have NIStune anymore but will get it again in the future. I want to see how much quicker i can get this thing, as i'm still a P plater.

general rules is that every 0.1 you drop off your 60' time = 0.2 off your ET.

with decent tyres and a good launch you should be able to get down to around a 2.0 second launch. hell i was able to do a 2.187 second 60' in a fwd magna, and i was only launching at 2500rpm. i had my tyres at about 18psi.

Get the 60' down to 2 secs flat and you will go 14 flat

If it did do a 14 flat, i'd be over the moon. I'll keep working on my 60ft times and see how quick i can go, maybe when i get the Decats and NIStune done i'll be able to give a few standard turbo cars a scare :D

loved the falcon next to you...looks like every second one around here. the stockos obviously made it go faster!! :P

seriously tho, nice run other than the 60ft :), and you still got the falcon, which is much newer and normally more powerful.

nah they are too busy making excuses :P

funny thing is though my Snoarer runs 14.6s from the factory :\

Buuuuttttt doesnt take much to get then in the 11's though ;)

Not fair, you have boost to play with :P

Record it :P Shouldn't be too bad, when i ran there were two NA supras, an SZ-R and a normal SZ, SZ-R did 15.2 & SZ did 15.8. Both were catback & pod, i was actually suprised that they ran so slow, everyone talks them up bigtime.

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
