That's a massive mis conception about supercars.

The cars themselves are actually radically different depending where it was originally manufactured.

The base of a monocoque chassis and RWD V8 is as far as it currently goes.

Want to win have 888 build you a chassis and pay for their experience to tune it.

There was teams buying componentry from 888 all week trying to find pace, if the cars were the same they'd all have the same componentry,

hahaha yep

I laughing at my FB feed at the moment.

Lots of "omg holdens are so much better etc"

Im sitting here going wtf they are the same car you dickheads.

Even the Holden engine is a carbon copy of the D3 headed ford...only difference is the engine mounting posistions and intake manifold bolt holes

yeah. the holdens have to be cut in half and widened (or is it lengthened?) so that they can meet the blueprint regs.

as for parts, yeah there are only a handful of teams who actually make their own parts. back in the day larry perkins used to be the go to guy for holden engines. they were pretty much the most powerful. and DJR was the ford team to supply a lot of the ford teams. not sure if 888 still make stuff for the ford teams or not (given that a lot of the componentry is the same between the 2 i'd say that they do). a mate of mine used to work for 888 as a fabricator in their last year with ford, might see if he knows.

ye, i meant same as in the suspension design etc

ie a commodore is not a commodore per se.

A lot of people still think the cars are a road car with a roll cage and aero

Edit - The rules of these things are stupid...like you say there are different components etc...but they have to run a control MAP sensor! and the ignition timing isnt allowed to change more than 6 degrees between 4000 and 7500

anyone comparing GTR laptimes to a supercar is an idiot, one is a production based touring car and the other a sports sedan built to regulation.

plus 19 odd years of development derp derp derp

anyone, the queing is going to ruin the 888's car race.

Also, HICLONE 25% better fuel consumption and 15% more power !

    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
