I have been running a switch on my r33 chuki for about 4 years or so with no problem , I run the switch through the 4wd fuse in the boot fuse box, just take the fuse out take it apart and replace the 2 standard spades inside for your own with wires attached ,stick an inline fuse in of the same rating and run the 2 wires to the centre consul and fit a switch,,if your in 4wd you can switch on the go ,takes a minute or so for the line pressure to drop then the 4wd light comes on and your in 2wd.

You still have to turn the ignition off and on to reactivate the 4wd.

I'm running a full 5 gear OSG cluster with strengthed input and excedy twin plate.

Has anyone used this controller? I need to put my 33 GTR into rwd for the drags, looked at the Full Race ones but they aren't for v-specs and the

Ruzic ones don't go to full rwd. This is the only other one I found so if anyone knows about them your help would be much appreciated.

Anyone can take a photo of this said "plug"? I am trying to locate it but theres too many!

In my S1 Stagea its behind the drivers side kick panel : a very small black plug taped to another loom with a single yellow wire with a green trace going to the plug and a single black wire going to the socket.

Hmm.... so you're saying the plug wire colour is different to the socket wire colour? WTF is Nissan thinking but if thats the case, shouldnt be too hard to trace.

I'll have a look for that and hopefully its the same for the 33 GTR in terms of the colours. Cheers.

I'm trying to locate this plug but am unsure which one it is.

Is it the brown one attached in this picture.

Most likely. Here's how I described mine when I saw it:

In my S1 Stagea its a very small black plug taped to a loom with a single yellow wire with a green trace going to the plug and a single black wire going to the socket.

You will soon know when you disconnect it. If the car explodes in a ball of fire its the wrong one.

    • Congrats on the career change!  I did something similar at the start of the year too, left IT / corporate after nearly 2 decades. Soooo when's the motor coming out for the spark plug change?
    • Hi guys, long time no post as per usual! It's been a busy year so far, the biggest thing being a new job.  After 28 years in the automotive industry I decided it was time for a change.  I was losing faith in the industry and where it's heading.  Now in a completely different industry (electrical) working for a company that manufacture water pump contollers.  Not as sexy as cars but it's an interesting,  challenging industry. I now don't work Saturdays which is a bonus!  It's still 50-55 hours a week but having Saturdays ack after 28 years of working them is awesome!   No news on the GT-R but i did decide to add some more JDM goodness into my life....           1990 300 ZX.  She's not perfect but for a 35 year old car she ain't bad!  Just going to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it.  It's currently auto but will start stockpiling everything for a manual swap. It WILL distract me even further from the GT-R but im hoping not for too long! It somewhat proves a 6'8" freak can fit in a 300 ZX.  Sort of...  I drove it home from the previous owners house in Melbourne via Black Spur and Merton Gap (2 awesome bits of Victorian twisty road) and it was amazing!  Handles so well!!!   I don't think it would be worthy of a full build page but I'll post up some of the upgrades here if anyone is interested?  Cheers guys!
    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall
