Hey guys,

I have to do an example prototype of a graph for this client.

and basically in this prototype, I want to compare 4 cars..

at the moment im comparing the

R32 - gts, gts-t, gtr

r33 - gts, gts-t, gtr

i need another make of car that has 3 types to compare to

anyone know of a car?

How about an LH Torana?

First production car in the world to have a 4 cyl (1900 Opel), 6 cyl (173 and 202 ) and 8cyl (253 and 308) available ex factory.

Showing my age now!

As far as i know, a stock SS against a stock R33 GTS-T would be pretty even. Both low 6 seconds 0 - 100. Both manual and decent drivers i don't see much in it at all.

cheers.

oh yeah, i don't think i can add anymore variants, maybe BMW's?

325i, 330i, M3? - GTS, GTS-T, GT-R - 147kw, 170kw, 256kw.

530i, 545i, M5? - GTS, GTS-T, GT-R - 170kw, 245kw, 298kw.

cheers

Sorry to say guys but i can tell you many ss story's where my 32 has come out on top, but ill only tell 3 to keep everyone awake ;)

1. The other night I had a drag wit a vn which sounded pritty tough. We both took off and both had good launches wit lil wheel spin. With my taller 1st gear I pulled 3 car lengths in front of him and through 2nd,3rd,and 4th that didn't change. He didn't have a passenger in the car either. My mate that was wit me knew someone who knew the owner so out of curiosity we contacted him to see what was done to the vn. It was a freshly rebuilt 355 stroker ;)

2. I had 2 mates in the car on the way home from crown, and I bumped into two mates I used to go to highschool wit. They both own vn ss's. We had a drag and I ***ed up my launch wit the extra weight in my car so i bogged down, although reving through second I was passing them. They have exaust extractors, cai, stage 1 cams and im not sure bout anything else.

3. One night I was cruizing down heatherton rd wit two mates and stopped at the lights next to a vx r8 clubsport. I dnt rev my car or be a smart ass next to people, although it really pisses me off wen people do that to me. Anyways he launched and took off nomal changing to 2nd at 3,000rpm's and wen I changed into 3rd I cruized past him.

Dude.. a VX SS will smash a GTS-t R33 S1orS2. even with exhaust.. then put a exhaust on a SS.. and even with some extra boost. the GTS-t will not beat it .. sorry to say. i am a skyline enthousiest but this time your wrong

Hmmm... no... If this is from personal experience then learn to drive...

Here we go again, another Commondore v Skyline thread...

From personal experience on a 250 metre run, my 146rwkW 33 beat a VYSS by a car length. Would have been more but I had a pathetic start. Both Manual.

It will always be close, but a good 33 driver should win.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
