All Performance Challenge announced alongside ’Superkruise’

Those familiar with the Heathcote Park All Performance Challenge - which is held in November each year - will be pleased to hear that the weekend has now been extended with a 2.4km ‘Superkruise’ course laid out amongst plenty of car-related activity for crowds to enjoy on the Sunday and live entertainment for the campers on the Saturday night.

The All Performance Challenge is one of the largest events on the Heathcote Park annual calendar and attracts a competitive field of almost 150 cars and bikes. As a DYO or dial-your-own race day, the competition is wide open and literally anyone in attendance can walk away with the top prize. Action will kick off on Friday Nov 11 with a Test n Tune session, running all day Saturday and Sunday.

This year’s event will offer a substantial prize purse of $10,000.00!

This has been a popular request as it offers a transparent arrangement for racers and the opportunity to win a little more than expected. “Increasing the prize purse in recent years has been one of the more popular things we’ve done,” said Russell Clarke, venue owner. “I think people can see that we’re doing the right thing by them and providing them with some fun at a pretty low cost.”

Held on the Bendigo Swap Meet weekend, there’s always a huge range of people, cars and bikes at the venue and this year is expected to produce another bumper crop. In addition to all of the usual Drag Racing activity, the Heathcote Park team will set up a cruise course which runs down the drag strip and back along the return road – looping through the Staging Complex. Enthusiasts will be able to kruise the course, enjoy a skid and immerse themselves in a world of all things automotive.

“There will be all sorts of stands and stalls scattered right throughout the venue, and of course plenty of cars and automobilia on display as well. People will be encouraged to drive the course and simply pull over in designated areas to get out and look at the different displays and attractions,” said Dean Mesh, general manager for Heathcote Park.

“Onsite camping is a real plus for us on these weekends, and in November it’s great weather to be outdoors, particularly in the evenings. This year’s event should be the biggest one yet.”

Trade stalls and sites booked in advance are available FREE OF CHARGE to encourage a real diversity amongst the offerings, everything from mobile phone accessories to car parts will be on display and up for sale. Those wishing to participate need only pay the standard spectator admission price, a limited number of powered sites are available for a small fee.

Tickets and race registrations are available at the gate. A comprehensive Schedule will be released online in the coming days.

Heathcote Park Raceway is Victoria’s leading regional motorsport facility located just 25km south of Bendigo, off the McIvor Highway. Built in 1975 the venue has hosted some of Australia’s largest Drag Racing events and features one of the oldest and longest Quarter Mile Drag Strips in the country, as well as a championship length Quarter Mile Speedway Complex, a 2.3km Off Road Racing Complex, dual lane Mud Racing Course, MotoX Complex and comprehensive Pit, Garaging and Camping facilities.

  • 2 weeks later...

Heathcote drags have been canceled this weekend according to their website due to track work. I guess my attempt at a 10 will have to wait until next year

Good luck. Probably try Calder park instead of Heathcote as they will be repairing the track and might take a while.

Also, seen your car (video), looks nuts. Good work.

Thanks for that.

Calder will kick me off as I don't have a cage yet if I run the times I'm hoping for.

Heathcote have planed a test and tune for 2nd dec so work must be going to take very long, but you would want to wait a few meets to get some good rubber down on the track

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
