BAM - in all honest GTAAH was a debarcal.. very dissapointing.

Daniel

Sorry to disappoint guys. In all honesty We werent going to run it at all, and we left it with the rough-ish tune SST put in it before cabin. We didnt expect the box back in time, it came in late Wednesday Night so we decided to run it. ****en thing was either blowing the spark out something cruel, either that or the Wolf was ****ing up. It'll run the numbers, but I'm not going to risk damaging it to impress the peanut gallery. We're going to pull it down, re-shell it and tolerance everything just so we dont have any problems with it next season.

And before any of you question the driving ability I'm pretty sure the 11.88@119mph out of the 15 on my 3rd ever pass, and about the 10th pass ever in anything, should assure you I can steer a car in a straight line.

Yeah, Dead Happy I never thought I'd have so much fun driving it in a straight line. Apparently on the last run I pulled an 11.7@120 but Roy has the timesheet so I cant confirm. If I hadnt broken the gate in the first round of elims it would have gone a lot quicker in the cool air.

Big up Paulie for assisting the cabin boys and for putting on a top event, the 'naan was of a high standard too.

Jash - feel for ya dude, been a lot of effort on the R, I'm sure it will come together shortly.

BTW - were you riunning the OS gear set? How did it perform? No problem with shifts at high revs?

Jash

Thanks for the explaination - was expecting big things. 11.7 thats bloody awesome compared to your other times - i didnt stay for the finals so congrats.

Jash - will you be sorting the car out now or is it not a prioriyu at the moment?

Dan

Gav,

I'd be well pissed if we'd prepped it and it ran like it did, but based on the amount of time we'd put in I cant be too upset. In hindsight we would have been better off stripping the 15 and leaving the R in the shed.

OS Box shifts just like a stocker, although I didnt really launch it or hit it hard at decent revs. You've still got all synchros intact so it should operate as normal.

Jash

Dan,

Not a priority as the strip season is coming to a close, we were always going to tear it down after Fag Combat and re-shell it. At the sort of power its making its going to get a bottom end rebuild every 5000km if not sooner.

Yeah well stoked with the 15. Next trip down we'll remove everything that isnt necessary - like the 75kg worth of Stereo etc etc and maybe chuck some naws down it and see how much we can improve it by.

Jash

Sean top effort and some nice times but do people realise the line runs a 26 , not a 25..

Roys spot on the button launches in the CRed Sil were a sight to behold and Chooklotto ( aka Simon from SST) had the best reaction at 0.01 which is as close to perfect as you get.

Jash , big up ( as you would say) for even bringing GTAAH there.

People have to realise these are BIG dollar toys that take time and money to get right.every body seems to think you just up the boost and run a good clutch and the time is there... Lets hope you sort it and join the rarified atmosphere of the 10sec club.

Ant....

what can I say??

Guy is awesome , dedicated to put on the show , and one of the true nice guys around as well :devfu:

Ken,

Ta - You know I'm not going to belt it till I'm happy with it. And yeah well large up to Ant - You're fully tapped dude. Big thanks must also go to Chooklotto's goods for wearing a Macca's serviette as a skirt - Top Work.

I for one was disappointed with the battle of the GTRs, expected GTAAH and GT51R to run better times but i guess there must be reasons im unaware of

yeh same

dissappointed in GT51R as i thought that beast would b running up against ant in the final

ive seen the power it gets on the dyno so i dunno wat was going wrong with it?

was very impressed with that blue GTR :D

yer lol at the commentator 'i think that he (13 devil) is trying to say watch out im a hazard'

Yeah, the commentator definately enjoyed the hazard lights. Kept refering to paul maccas sileighty as a 180sx too :whatsthat

Good day overall, nice to see brett finally run a 13 second pass and that silver pearlescent(sp?) Supra was awesome!! (and I don't like supra's as a rule).

Got member number 26 (26th letter of alphabet = Z)

Cheers

Rob

yeah think everyone knows my story - bit disappointed ..... i went out there to beat my personal best of 14.5 which was done on wednesday night .... car shouldve been well n truely able to beat that ..... but a lot of power was lost at the top end - she just wasnt running smick! Thought it might be the weather ...... waited til night .... ran her again but just couldnt get her into the 14's no matter what i did ..... in fact she was running the same times she did with a broken engine!! :)

Got into finals by fluke ..... but couldnt run cos the EBC died due to some dodgy wiring.

Got home compared my 14.5 with my 15 sec time sheets and yeah something is definately wron gas the reaction and 60ft times for both timesheets are very close but she just died in the butt after that ...... very sluggish thru the top end. So i guess back to the workshop she goes AGAIN :)

Thanks to all the people that came n said hi n gave me their support :D

And yes TJ i did get membership number 069 ..... its all mine :elaugh:

Hi Everyone,

Thanks Paully and everyone who turned up. I HAD A BALL. :boobies2: It was a great day and night and a good turn out SUAWA. Thanks to everyone running the tent, GREAT JOB. Got member number 011.

NIZ, I hope you still have a smile, 14.5 for an auto is a bloody good time :) at least you didnt get chopped by a beat-up S13/RB20 like I did hehehe.

LAGWAGON, What the hell have you do to that car of yours, 12.5 is very impressive, well done.

DRIFTA, MAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTE, after that last run you had, I could tell straight away what you did, could smell the scent of ONE Burnt out CLUTCH dude :D but some great burnouts. Fun to watch.

To everyone else who did PB's congrats and now that you have the BUG there should be more people there on Wednesday nights. Thanks again to everyone who help and I have missed.

I enjoyed the day(In fact my whole trip has been excellent) Good to see so many Skylines there. Had fun in the XR6T - but was spewin the GTR wasn't ready to bring(next time for sure) Went for ride in Ant's R32 last night - is one strong car. As for Nathans T51R & Jasons R34, well - thats drag racing. Its very hard when up into the big power levels.Everything has to be perfect. The gtr is only as strong as the weakest link.In Nathans it was the tyres & the slipping twin plate.T51R will be a 10 sec car when sorted.Jason cracked his diff cover.

Overall I had a great time, met heaps of people & destroyed a new set of tyres!

See you guys next time.

John, was a pleasure to meet you

www.antilag.com/videos/munro.mpg a little something for you there :D

Well and truly look forward to seeing the R next year. By then it should be well and truly sorted and putting down some stunning times

thankyou either way for your support of the event, as you where basically the only Easterner to head over.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
