Just to confirm; What do you mean by "no air flow"? Do you mean because there arent long straights for air to get over your radiator?

If you have the standard viscous fan and are worried about heat, leave the car running after each run and the fan will be drawing a large amount of air over the radiator (a shroud is very useful here) after runs. Also you wont be making 270rwkw for the whole course. You're only making that when the boost is right up and your using full throttle. These courses are designed so that you dont have to use full throttle and in many cases it's faster to use less throttle and balance the car so it's ready for the next turn.

If your cooling system is totally stock, you'll be fine. There's regular entrants pushing more than 100rwkw on top of your figure and more boost without issues. Make sure you have the fluid full and no air bubbles in it, then enjoy!

slower is faster, just doesn't look as good.nyaanyaa.gif

re my lack of license in mail, do you want to do up a form or leave it for the day. Also should I be chasing someone at aasa?

Yeah look I think the best thing to do is to ring AASA and ask, thats going to get a much better result than us worrying about it on the day to be honest (which probably wasnt the best suggestion from me haha), the process is that after the day we send a cheque and all the application forms from the day direct to AASA, they then process them and send the actual license to the applicants direct in the mail.

It's never been an issue in the past, it could be something simple like lost in the mail - who knows! If they have a record of mailing it, tell them it never made it and to please send another. They shouldnt have an issue with that :)

Edit; yep slower is faster, damn right!!! Shame it isnt as fun though :D

Slower being faster I've always found way more fun then just sitting in the middle of a patch of concrete with my foot held down doing skids...

If anyone thinks it's not fun to run a quick time, get in the car with Reece and tell me whats more fun, doing a skid or going balls to the wall...

i used to compete at motorkhana's on dirt when i was young in a datsun 1200. so i kinda know what its about, im not going out there to set times though.....not saying i wont try on a couple of runs, but i want to have fun

Unless you know your EXACT helmet size, you probably shouldn't buy your helmet online anyway... The helmet has to fit you properly with little to no movement for it to do its job.

I'd suggest going down to your local motorbike/motorsports accessories shop and let them know you have a budget, and ask them to help you find a helmet that you like and fits properly.

I got one I use for these days from Sydney City Motorcycles (google for locations near you). They have them all on display and you can try them on. Also prices were clearly marked to save time. Mine is open face, plain black and was about $80 from memory, fine for these days

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
