there is so much to upgrade on an NA to make it turbo...

if you are going to do it PROPERLY...

you can do the dodgey thing, upgrade nothing slap a turbo on it etc... and end up with a confused car that doesnt perform anywhere near the effort put into it....

sell NA buy turbo car, save time and money, not one spanner needed... done

Swap block out for a second hand good cond 33 gtst det block - your choice to rebuild here if you want. (u may even be able to reuse ur old block if its got oil squirters for the pistons. If so just whack in det piston and rods, new bearings and headgasket and ur set.)

You will need the complete det turbo and intake setup - turbo plus oil and water lines, exh manifold, dump n front pipes, intake pipe, air filter or airbox, fmic interooler kit, manaul bleed valve.

Whack in a 33 gtst ecu or go pfc (again your option depends on budget)

The difference in the de cams will give you abit of gains compared to det cams.

Since youve got 50% more power, ur gonna need tp address.brakes so gtst brake setup and 5 stud conversion os on the cards.

You will also need to put the power down so a gtst viscous lsd will be needed.

Unless ur car was purchased fpr dirt cheap like 4k then itll be worth it to do the above, otherwise just sell and get an.original gtst as they are cheap these days.

Judging by the post he made last, it looks like a transplant more than a conversion.

Still shit. You've got an NA registered R33 with a turbo motor. Technically, its a huge defect. You will also need to change the brakes all round as the non turbo uses smaller brakes, another $500 to source brakes.

Maybe i'll explain in a much more simpler english since know one seems to understand what i'm saying.

I will swap the RB25DE engine out and replace with a COMPLETE WITH TURBO,LOOM AND ECU RB25DET all i would need to get it going from the start would be intercooler and exhaust. would i not ?

Brakes will hold up, gearbox should hold up for now.

Will be installed by a mechanic so a eng cert will come along with it and car will be re-registered with vicroads with new engine number and whatever else

Make sense now ?

Now what complications will i come across ?

it wont be eng cert without turbo brakes

Having done this myself...

Endless. Do as the others are advising and sell it.

Unless you have already upgraded the brakes/suspension/drivetrain etc, and you will be making more of a loss by selling the car and buying a factory turbo model then you really shouldn't be thinking about doing this.

For the price a 33 gtst goes for, you would be nuts. Unless you purely want the experience of pulling it apart and reassembling it, sell it.. I dont think a 33 gts would be worth much less then a 33 gtst (purely because the gtst is worth nothing) Sell.

no the brakes wont be fine...

no the diff wont be fine...

then you'll probably find the suspension will be sloppy so there's another upgrade needed...

so not worth it... buy a turbo model

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
