as much as I'm not a McLaren fan (because of Hamilton), I hope it proves to be the fastest car early on and the other teams rush to update their broken noses to something similar.

But it sounds like it won't be possible for those broken nosed cars to fit the regs with a McLaren shape nose without a major change to the height of the chassis where the front suspension attaches, so we'll be stuck with them all season.

I guess we'll get used to it...

As i posted the day McLaren revealed the car. There was so much about the car that was Melb Airport special and plastic demo bits....they dont want to give anything away and want to keep people guessing. I am still betting their car will be substantially different when they get to Australia and betting the nose is in for changes once they complete some testing

I quite like the Williams. I am hoping this year is the start of changing fortunes...but only time will tell. The car looks pretty good, but lacking sponsors so another lean year of development :(

I wish there was streams of testing. I am so hungry for the return of F1 I would probably watch it :)

+1 I think craving is probably a more appropriate word for me.

Keep an eye on rbr ducting. If it works too well we could very well never be rid of ugly nose cones :P

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
