umm....2 broken but not replacing the rest?

my guess is they overtightened the nuts and 2 broke. However, how do you know others were not overtightened/stretched/weakened but not broken?

I'd by very cautious....

they didnt put the wheels on, it was the 1st wheel they took off. the apprentice stuffed up hard. they are replacing all the studs on that wheel. what happend was the guy didnt do the nuts up by hand, he threw them on with the rattle gun straight up and cross threaded 4 out of the 5 studs and they were that f**ked that they studs snapped trying to get the wheel nuts back off.

retarded.

good to hear they are doing the right thing to fix it....lots of places would be more difficult or just try and change 2 before you notice. Or as I had in one case just leave 1 wheelstud snapped and hope you don't look at it.

Worked in the mechanical car industry for 10yrs, & I can tell everyone, I do as much as I can WITHOUT taking it to a workshop, even tyre changes, I just take the wheels in, alot of tyre fitters are worse than an apprentice mechanic!!!!!!! I just bought a set of "race" spec alloy wheel nuts (believe me I'm hesitant about using them), & will be checking they remain at 85ft/lbs (110nm) after every drive. My problem is that my front studs are M12x1.25, but the rears are M12x1.5.......My Stagea is a stock S2 RS FOUR S (LSD). Can anyone shed light on this (other that maybe it broke a stud or two & all that was available at the time of repair were the 1.5's before it sailed down under)?

Holy thread revival!

Anyhow i ordered wheel studs through Nissan for my SERIES 1 C34 Rs4 part number is ni-43222-28b10, they do not fit because the knurling part is too thick, can anyone help a brother out and give me a part number for a series 1? I know for certain the ones i have are for series 2 as i compared them with Chuckies off his S2.

Thanks for ay help

Hi mate, I am reasonably sure that the front and rear p/n are different (different size where they press into the hub) - did you get the right end? the front match something local and are readily available, the rears seem to be skyline and a bit trickier to find (but nissan have them in stock)

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
