It's my 2 year anniversary with my R34 in a couple of weeks :)

DarkCoupe: I think you've had even more trouble than me when looking for a car...even though when I was looking a GT-t wasn't an option due to price ~$60K!!!

But as long as I've got my sunroof and my bastardised turbo additon, I'm happy :D

Dan

i have had 2 x r33 's the r34 shits all over the r33.

there are fu$k all r34's basically no one is importing them and they are a sought after hard to get sports car.

lets put it in a nutshell, you can get a stock commodore for 34 k or a nice 34gt I know what i want, and thats wht I got, not a common run of the mill everyone has one wrx, but a unique r34 gtt 4ws 323nm of torque 34.

thanks for coming.

Don't rip us off mate :D

Early R34 GTT's are 343 Nm of torque, later models are 363 Nm!

I would say the price may go up, A stock R34 N/A is around the $30+ mark, one with a turbo and your looking at least $38+.

I've never seen any R34s below that at a car yard, I've been looking around at prices of skylines for 8 to 10 months.

So if your hoping some car yard is going to sell you an R34 below 30 grand I wouldn't say it'll happen with-in a year.

Importing, is way cheaper but then you have the hidden costs, and you can't see the car only go by what people tell you, unless you buy the car while your in japan.

There's about 10,000 vehicles imported per year into Australia, and most of them are 4x4 and buses/trucks, only 1/3rd would be cars, before SEVs it was around 20,000 to 30,000, so SEVs has really cut into the market, but the amount of players has really been cut down as well.

I reckon if this thread keeps going steadily for another couple of years then the prices will definitely drop.

hehehe...too true, I really don't know why it bothers any of you whether it is expensive or cheap. A car has always been in my opinion worth what your willing to pay for.

But I see many of your youngins think wow import, nicer, newer, better equipt and most importantly cheaper.

Ignoring the fact the younger generation is paying stupendous amount of money on insurance, relatively speaking if you can't afford the insurance you can't afford the car!!!

38K for a gtt at a car yard, not suprising considering they are there to make a profit, i would neva buy a car from a car yard no matter the warranty offered or price given, most cars there have been thrashed and/or smashed. car yards are only good for driving the car to see how it feels, dont expect a good deal from any car yard. gtts will depreciate in value, i know becoz i plan to buy one early next year and hav seen them for as low as 32k ono(manual, turbo, low kms etc), to silence some of you who think it IS impossible to get one at a cheap price....... http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!c...rch_distance=25 .i mean r34's are nice but they arnt XY GTHO's or a rare supercar that goes up in value. there are alot of people trying to sell r34's who think they can get 40K for a stocker!!!

show me where these r34 gtts are,for under 1.5 mill fob ,auction grade 4 and up,autos yeh!but not manuals,it is cheaper to buy a 34 already complied under low volume than to import, the r34 market value will drop like everything else, but not as fast as some might think!

    • When you say your cams are 272/262 is that 272in and 262ex?
    • We're arguing semantics. I am saying 45 accel and a 55 deccel ramp are "2 ways". Even a 45 degree ramp and an 89 degree ramp is "2 ways", because it is literally... two ways. The cusco 55/30 ramp is a 2 way. It's two ways. I get it though - in normal nomenclature a "2 way" would be 45/45 or 55/55 or 60/60 i.e the same locking in both directions. And something like 45/65 would be considered "1.5 way". I would then say if we're getting into the nitty gritty then every locking diff is a "2 way" diff and we should not speak in 1.5, or 2 ways but ramp angles instead. Which ofc if one of those ramp angles is 90deg, that side is not doing any locking. :p So Nismo don't obviously sell 3 things. The fact of the matter that they only sell two items really goes to show that there's a 2 way and a "1,5 way" which is really a 1 way. I believe the actual lockup for the 'adjustability' of the GT pro is really just setting preload for when the ramps actually start locking up. It's not changing how much 'wayness' there is. It is (somehow) horribly explained. People just buy whatever diff and go "locks up good bruh" and that's what ends up on socials forever.
    • No, you're wrong, and you've always been wrong about this. The Nismo has 2 sets of openings. One is a real 2-way, and the other is a 1-way. There is no 1.5-way possible with the ramps that they offer. A real 1.5-way does exist. That Cusco stuff I posted is a prime example. If the forward drive ramps are, say 55°, and the overrun ramps are, say, 30°, then you will get about half as much LSD effect on overrun than you do on drive. It is real, it realy works. OK, you're slightly right. The Nismo has 55° and 45° ramps on the 2-way, so it does offer less LSD effect on overrun. But, I think that just means that they've (probably) sensibly established that you do not want actually equal LSD effect on overrun. You just want "quite a lot, but not quite as much as the drive LSD effect".
    • Just wanted to unearth this and post my baby with the new front ❤️😝 Took her to my wedding rehearsal today. Next up is getting wide skirts (after wedding)
