yeh i understand about the dyno numbers and all, the car does drive well apart from fuel economy but thats to be expected and current set up was good for a 10 second pass but yeh more power would be nice.

i was looking around on rhd japan and they dont seem to sell the 22cm rear housings on their own anymore.

yeh ive already sent them an email the other day asking them what they think about my set up and just waiting for a reply. probably get it next week when they should be back at work

Heat treatments first hit the 7s with a T51R SPL, got to have been making some power to do that - was definitely over 1khp

Are you sure they did that with a T51RSPL? For some reason I thought they were on a GT45 or even 47R Garrett which given the level of performance of the car may have even been a special version.

Spent a little while then searching around; Yes GK and SPL are similar, GK has higher HP rating for the same level of response. T62R was made to (apart from other things) nudge out the GK, and naturally is bigger. The thing is though, for this discussion the SPL really isnt needed IMO, here's why; Garage Saurus using an old 34D ran in the 8's, so that's got to be enough power for Chris to enjoy :) .....or is it haha

Everyone here's 8's, 34D, Watch from 1.12.

I did ask him which rear it had when at his shop but it was ages ago and I forget. NYTSKY might remember, he was busy buying a bellmouth at the same time

  • 2 weeks later...

ive purchased a hks t51r spl non bb turbo the other day that i found at a good price.

now its just a matter of taking the car to get it put in along with a service n also bought a set of mines ncam baffles as ive been putting that off for a while.

also bought the hks t4-t51r adaptor flange so that i willl be able to still use my greddy manifold and will only need to make up a new dump pipe with v-band flange

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
