Hi fellas,

I recently came across an opportunity to buy off a mate a set of black Volk TE37's in 19x9.5+12 all round and plan to run on 275/30/19 tires.

I have heard contrasting views, some saying this offset looks best whereas some suggest 19x10.5+22 is the better, but various people seem to run the 19x9.5+12 more frequent. Can someone please share with me their experiences on a R33 GTR and best tire profile as noticed chunkier profiles look best on a R33 GTR.

It looks good on his R34 GTR, but not sure it will look good on my fatter R33? Just don't want to buy them and regret it!! Please help!! They seem to look ok on 350Z's??

Pictures would be great!!

Thanks.

SM

R33/34 GTR.

19x10.5 +15 or + 12.

Other sizes will work. But size above in 18/19 is best IMO.

Will fill guards the most.

X9.5 +10-20 works as well but will sit in the guards. Noticeably.

best offset would be +12 or +15 but then again that all depends on the size available to you.

i wouldnt go for the 9.5 even tho they do have good offset. id hold out out for atleast 10" wide with the same offset. would look that little bit more aggressive

Thanks mate for the advice. If I were to go for the +9.5, would it still look ok?

Cheers

you could always just put some spacers behind them to push them out that bit more if you are realy worried about it.

if you used say a 12mm spacer that would basically make them 10" wide.

ive only ever had 10.5" wide on my gtr with the 3 sets of rims ive owned so i cant give personal advice on how it would look

So you think 19x9.5+12 with custom 12mm spacer plates would look tough as 19.10.5+12? surely with spacers, it would look just as tough as x10.5 in terms of width, right mate?

Thanks all.

19 x 9.5 +12 will just give you more lip and a tad more concave on the spokes, which will give a more aggressive look on you wheels.

19 x 10.5 +22 will give you better rear traction due to it being a inch wider of tyre but a less aggressive offset.

R33 GTR's have wide rear guards, preferably you run 19 x 10.5 +12 as the stock R33 GTR wheels are 17 x 9 +30 and the look tiny.

But if you got 19 x 10.5 +22, it should still look ok but won't fill out the guards as good as 19 x 10.5 +12.

19 x 10.5 +12 fills out the guards nicely.

Don't bother running spacers and get the correct offset to fill out the guards.

Is it possible to fit 19x11 +5 with 275/30/19 tires all around on a R33GTR with coil overs and standard brembo brakes, the wheels in mind are work Miester S1-3 with r type disk.

What offset is the above GTR running the car in question is the only GTR with miesters on it

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
