Hi guys,

I know most of you despise or don't really like most of the people that hang around boostcruising, but Chris (boostedS15) has organised an exclusive dragracing day at Willowbank.

Please refer to here http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....opic=36990&st=0 for more details.

All you have to be is a member of the site to be able to register. It would be nice to see a big contingent of skyline members out there again

I'm in! Who else?

Hrm second thoughts, Andrew had informed me that Aussie Auto will be embarking on the same venture which MIGHT be cheaper. I won't be attending this one, as we are kinda helping to organise the Aussie Auto one and I'm not that rich :D

I'll upgate you further when I know more details.

ummm....wouldn't that be QLD raceway, not Willowbank?
I was thinking the same thing. Might take a while to complete 300ks in 400m increments.

Heres the spill from the organiser himself

"Due to QLD 300 (v8 supercars) being on at willowbank on the SAME date as proposed track hire,(even willowbank forgot as the raceway is seperate), is OCTOBER okay?? simple yes/no. A long way away i know but more mods can be planned at least!"

Erin you might be able to answer this:

it says the costs is $4400 to hire the track. 60 competitors. $73.50 each is fair enough.

But the willowbank guy says that spectators should be charged $15 to offset this price.

So correct me if i am wrong... but with $60 competitors paying their $73.50 to make the $4400... that would mean that every single spectator after contributing $15 for no reason.

Maybe i am missing something, But charging people extra money for a track that has been booked and paid for in full...

that is one thought, my other thought is that spectators just pay to enter the private property, if this is the case, the $4400 track fee is paid by competitors, then i think the spectator fee should be lowered.

And having said all that i would be keen to participate if my car is complete :D... time to take down some r33's

EDIT: *** This post was not intended as starting a shit fight or bagging boostcruising or the people involved in hosting the event. I infact applaud the people responsible for such an opportunity. Just asking some questions to satisfy my over working brain ***

Dave I agree. Obviously the extra money would be going into someones pocket. As Andrew said, why would you pay $73 to race when you could go to willowbank on a wednesday night (the last few have been pretty bare) and get like 10 + races for $30. Or another alternative, cap the numbers off at 120 and have them pay $30 for 10 runs each... :S

I've thought of all that myself :D

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
