I Thanks for the response, I would have loved to call you directly but due to the nature of my work we do not have access to phone at the moment, its 20 days off and 10 days on,which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility. I am very much okay with the asking price which is $16,000 and i am willing to put in an offer of $16,150.

I am buying this for my first son who just graduated on top of his class at Charles Darwin University in NT ,He studied Building Design & Architecture. I want it to be the perfect graduation gift for him and am making it a surprise package ,Does it have any history I should be aware of? and why are you selling if you don't mind my asking.I am already in talks with freighters that will handle the pickup and delivery .I will really appreciate if you can email more info

Due to the nature of my work i am a very busy man working all day,am a sailor am presently on-board, i don't have access to my bank account online as am not with my credit card details here but i have my ANZ/US bank account link up with my PayPal account so I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account or better still is if you have a PayPal account ,please get back to me with your BSB and account details or PayPal account so i can proceed with the payment and contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up and deliver it in NT for my son .Await your reply .

I got this from a malaysian scammer an hour ago.

They also provided this, which they said would "verfiy who i was dealing with," (a lame ploy to trip up people and to create a feeling of security and trust)

It's quite an interesting scam, especially how they use "e-checks" through paypal

Anyway, thought this may interest a few people

Forgive me if ive lived under a rock but what damage could he do with a bsb and acc number?

I mean to withdraw from my accounts you can do it two ways;

1. ATM - need your card & PIN number at an ATM for up to $1000 per day.

2. BANK - If over $1000, you need to go in person with the card/acc details still need your PIN plus you need your drivers licence.

It isn't necessarily about stealing directly from your bank account. A bsb & acc number, your name and address and you've got everything you need to make up a fake bank statement which is a pretty common form of ID. Pair that up with a dodgy driver's licence, obtain credit from a source who doesn't check things properly -> shopping spree and then suddenly your credit rating is shot and you owe a lot of money on things you've never purchased while the thief is sporting a whole new set of bling.

That's just a contrived example of id theft though, who knows what else people might come up with.

It should make alarm bells ring in your head when reading that they are offering more then the asking price. That's one warning sign.

nice fake. my previous US passport AND my current one look nothing like this.

With just a few more details eg full name & address..., a fake POA can be made up > raid your bank.

Most banks will ask for a registration number on the POA. Some don't

A registration # on a POA application is procured through the Dept of Lands.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
