Hi fellas,

I know everyone has their own opinions so this thread is not to criticise any particular Skyline model but rather to pay respects to each and why people feel their chosen Skyline looks best.

Here are the basic rules to this thread; 1) we are only discussing looks, so please post reasons as why you feel a particular Skyline model looks best, 2) post up photos as examples and, 3) it can be any Skyline range including the R35 GTR so let your comments fly!!

I'll start. I've always been torn between the R33 and the R34 GTR, but overall I have to say the R33 GTR wins in the looks department. Sure, people say it's a widebody boat etc, but I love the aggressive stance, evenly-size huge oven-top rear lights and the R33 GTR front bar is vintage Skyline. Moreover, the body shape of the R33 just looks so much more aggressive with the pump guards and lines that complete the look and the R33 GTR rear wing looks toughest out of all the Skylines in my opinion.

I like (-er dislike) how you've put a greenery/forest background to each of the R33 GT-Rs > stuck the R32 in a paddock > R34 and R35 in the midst of a garage/factory theme with plastic water pipes running down behind the cars...

Hypnotherapists seem to pick up on what messages someone's subconscious conveys!! :rofl2:

I know it's a bit odd, but I would have picked the R33 GT-R as having the best balanced look anyway.

I'm sure that someone will bring their R32 GT-R out of the paddock and put it where it belongs - LOL

Hi fellas,

Terry: you got me!! I'm biased as hell for the R33 GTR. I own a R33, but next I would get a R34 GTR. But overall, I would also say that the R33 GTR looks best.

Wil: you are spot on. I just ransomed everything but I think Terry knows that subconciously I was conveying a hidden message.

Sinista: similiar but totally different as we are debating purely looks here and posters are asked to comment why.

Keep it coming fellas. Post up some pics too!!

ok then. For me it has to be the 34 GTR. Reason why....

It is so so easy to make it look super mean. There are just so many examples out there that look absolutely fantastic at any angle. It keeps the skyline origin unlinke the looks of the 35. The 33 can look good but there are only limited examples and you barely see any on the road that look good. The 32 is great, just a little old now. Every time you see a 34 GTR on the rd it looks great and super mean, its hard to find an example that doesnt look good.

I will agree with you on the point you make that the R34 maintains the Skyline look unlike the R35. Unlike many people, I am not a fan of the R35 in terms of looks at all...looks like a 350/370z on steroids. Not my cup of tea. Ok, can you post up one example of a R34 that you admire or like?

For me it would have to be BNR34s that look the best..

If you ask many skyline fans the question, 'which is your favourite skyline?' a large majority i would think would say the Z-tune no?...

Based on a 34R, which has an awesome stance, sharp lines and curves in all the right places, and a presence that the others seem to lack for me...

Just my thoughts anyways, and obviously im a little bias ha...

It's hard to fault the R34 Z-Tune. Definitely sexci!!

    • For fuelling the Haltechs have O2WB fuel controllers. Very useful for helping tuning VE and correcting for *small* mistakes. Of course if your injector/cam/trigger/sensor data is just wrong (or for a GTT which is not a GT) then you will get impossible reactions to things. I am sure you know this already but the reason people don't typically put haltechs (or any Aftermarket ECU) on GT's is because there's practically no real gains to be had - So this knowledge won't be commonplace.
    • Can someone tell me if the cracks seen in the rear sway bar bushings in these photo's is unacceptable from a roadworthy point of view?
    • Shouldn't need a "base map" for anything other than guidance to ignition tuning. You just need the engine capacity right, the injector size right, and something, almost anything, for a VE map. On an NA engine, fuelling is almost completely a function of load signal & rpm. It should run and drive with a completely flat fuel map. It will be too lean under load, but that's easily fixed. We used to tune all ECUs without any base map. There were no such things (until someone had tuned a near stock engine on one, and then they had a "base map".
    • What did you actually buy/how much did it cost? When I got mine in like.. 2017...? 2019? the aim was to run Torque for gauges via ODB2 and things like Track Addict/Laptimers/Dashcam/Reversecam/Spotify etc. Mine never broke, but I wonder if you've got the same needs (it sounds like it). Cause I liked the idea of being able to do anything with it. That said, yours also cost 3x the cost of what I spent so... food for thought.
    • For me there is a massive difference in manufacturer or big brand crippled android (Sony, Kenwood etc) vs the sort of thing I've installed here, which is basically just a tablet in DIN form factor with open Android, and the other model of course is mirroring - Android Auto/Carplay. I hate the locked down manufacturer and AA options where they decide what apps I'm allowed to install, including the Launcher but also importantly things like Ecutek (for this car) or Real Dash (Stagea) are not supported. Plus those crippled versions tend to be slower due to both overheads and lower spec hardware. On the other hand, when this breaks I'll likely be in trouble for support....but how is that different to owning an Infiniti anyway
