OK, u got me there :)

I inherited the rover from my uncle, if u saw it u would like it...he forged the engine, lowered it and fitted 16inch rims which were colour coded to the car (in fact runs the same rims as the texaco touring car) back in 80s. Besides, i thought u liked 80s cars haha

cool :)

way off topic, sorry guys...here is a pic.

for me, it has sooo much sentimental value - i plan to drop a monster engine in it, not sure if i'll go twin turbo on the current setup OR a big block to shake the earth :)

Slopey rover it is haha

It has less than 80,000km on it....uncle bought it, worked it, hardly drove it.

In the 80s it was considered advanced with its electronics and features- it made my dads torana ss look like a dinosaur hehe

any hi res of the group photo above?

got it off facebook so unless you can find one using the watermark or tinyeye..sorry

DR30 RS' and HR31 GTS-R's will always be cooler than any 90's GTR

and better looking

Mid 80's styling ftw!

each to their own and there are some fit looking eighties cars out there (retro jap thread anyone?) but skyline wise i much prefer the nineties models. Just a personal preference though.

right so this one isnt really GTR's but..close enough?

Wow! Awesome pics there Pat!

I wonder why the first one was taken on a wet day on the docks though - not the best location I would have thought.

The second one above I'd seen before and I love it because when I first saw it I still had my 33 and to me, in that pic, the R33 looks the best as it seems to be riding the lowest and has all the series 3 stuff on it (and it's black :P)

The last pic is just... :woot: Haha

i thought photographers purposely made things wet as it made stuff shinier and cleaner, i know films often have the roads sprayed with water for those reasons. Your right though, the dock location is a little meh.

also true re the, does look pretty boss in that pic.

as rare as that is :P

The pic with the 4 gtrs displays a great comparison and to me the r32 rear end looks very bubbly and aggressive and the r34 looks quite sharp and square...the r35 is a mammoth beast and I luv it.

yeah it always blows my mind when i see how big the 35 is relative to the 34 etc..its like they come from a planet where everything including the drivers are bigger.

also typo in my last post which i cant edit, meant to agree with you about the lowered 33 looking bawwss like. Somehow didnt type 33. WTF me?!

anyway found a few more comparos. love this stuff!

This is cool. At what point did the Japanese think, "Oh! Actually we could just move the side mirrors to the doors!" Great pic though.

There is some off-topic reason why you chose this photo isn't there Pat?

190515_215949085085854_100000122923411_1046157_4945668_n.jpg

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
