Did this to my front right guard yesterday in an off-track excursion.

Coming around the last corner I dropped 3rd at 6000rpm, looped out off the track. Car must have bounced when I came off, tyre caught the guard. Re-rolled it using a 3/4 drive :P The paint is quite damaged but I can respray that again, but unfortunately the guards lines have been distorted when it was twisted. So considering just replacing the whole guard.

Happy to say that is the worst of the damage from the weekend though, car LOVED it :D Didn't miss a beat. Water temps never moved above 85 degrees, oil temps much the same. Haven't driven the car like that for a VERY long time, forgot how much I missed it! Also had this happen this morning after my first run:

Genuine Apexi pod filter, bit too much vacuum.

Thanks man :D

As always, Powercruise has inspired me to do more. I'll get onto finding the missing power now, but unfortunately my tyres are almost down to wires now, so will have to spend some money there. Also thinking of ditching the Sparco seats and getting some Brides, the Sparco's have a bit of movement in the back rest which is getting a little annoying on boost :/ So it might be awhile until I can do more serious upgrades :(

Alright, bout time for some sort of update! First of all, apologies for the photos that are no longer working, I have no idea how to fix them :/

Secondly, I'll start with the small stuff. Bought some goodies from the carbon fibre group buy on here a few months ago; a cf headlight intake and a cf rad cooling panel. Not fitting the headlight just yet for obvious reasons, that will be for track and Powercruise duties. But here is the cooling panel:

Now, last time I posted I mentioned a bit of play in the backrest of my seats. You can see in the videos of me at Powercruise that they were already not sitting in the right position (I'm not actually a Commodore-spec bogan). That escalated pretty quickly, and went from small movement to just outright snapping. Driving home from a mates place one day, full boost in 2nd, all of a sudden the seat gave way. Not a fun feeling. Anyway, the seat was then totally reclined and refused to stay upright.

This happened about 2 weeks before I left on my 6 week holiday to Europe. So I decided I couldn't be farked wasting that time on the car, parked it in the garage and left it there until I got back on the 5th. Did a bit of research on replacement seats when I had the time, was pretty keen on getting a pair of the copy Bride Low Max Gias II's from the group buy section on here. BUT, I talked myself out of going copies again, as I wasn't keen on having a repeat of what happened to the Sparco copies, and I was actually worried about having mates in the car in the event of a car accident. So I eventually decided to purchase a pair of genuine Sparco R505's from Concept Racegear, who were very helpful. 5 days later, this arrived:

Containing these:

The quality of these things is just outstanding, they are absolutely rock solid, very very comfortable and look amazing. They're not light though, they weigh a good 20kg's each, not including the rails. However, as they are a universal seat, they weren't exactly bolt in using the Recaro rails. But they were pretty straight forward. First, I bolted the rails into the car and measured the gap between the bolts holding them in place, which was 400mm. Then I measured the gap between the holes in the rail mounts on the Sparcos, which were 340mm apart. So. Small problem. But easily rectified. This is how they were:

I then re-measured, before drilling and tapping holes where I needed them, like so:

It then took a bit of work to make sure the rails were perfectly parallel, but also not too hard to sort out. From there it didn't take me long to have them in the car, though I did have to retap the threads in the floorpan after doing a good job of the bolts on their way out

But that bit of fun aside, here is the final product:

They are a tight fit in the car, so perfect that one finds it hard to believe they are universal and not made for it!

Anyway, that's where the car stands at the moment, driveable again at least. Unfortunately having just graduated from Uni and job opportunities looking bleak, further modifications are going to have to wait for a bit :( But I no longer have any excuse to not get the car down to the drag strip, so I plan to go and get some time slips next week to see how close I actually am to this power figure!

Nah they don't hit the pillars at all, have full range of movement. They really do fit perfectly haha. The only issue with moving is the Recaro rails aren't 100% correct in their fitment, so it takes a bit of effort to get them to sit parallel once you torque the bolts up, otherwise they are very stiff. Haven't got that quite right yet, but they are close enough for now, I'll sort em out later.

Pics look heaps better on PC then on the phone man! Well done!

I guess that means i should really do some work on the 34 and do some updates then huh?

Damn Martin, those seats look awesome.

Now that i'm in WA i'm really going to have to get a look at this car one day.

How long are you in Perth for? I'm planning on getting down to Whoopass next Wednesday, provided the car doesn't attempt suicide again before then :P

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
